Another point not made, Welker stepped it up big time vs the Jags and Chargers while Moss was a near no show. Season ends at 17-0 without Welker playing outta his mind vs the Chargers.
Yes, Moss got pushed around that game.

Super witty.

I don’t understand why it’s so hard for people to understand that they were/are both great players, playing different roles.

Because it stopped being about the players and became about the argument?

And what was the underneath defense if it was thrown lower?

I get it, it was really one of the only places he could put it. I'm saying it could have been a few inches lower and we would have 7 SB wins

That's the problem with prevaricating, you can't keep track of your own BS. For the second time it has been bolded for you in the quote below
OK JE career catch % 66.4
WW career catch percentage is actually 72.6 with the pats and 70.8 overall.

So whats the problem? JE still much lower even with these corrections.

Not relevant. JE homers not interested in WW good things.

Why would he have caught it if it was a few inches lower? Inches didn’t cause the DROP.
If it were lower it may have been tipped at the line or by a lb.
It was as catchable as a throw can be. If you really think forehead level is a harder catch than chin level and excuses the drop, we should move to a different topic.

You're mad that people said they like JE better? Seems like a thing to not get that worked up about.
I am not mad. It just has nothing to do with the particular convo and point.

Thats fine. But it dosent change the fact at hand.

The problem is you posted FoS numbers then claimed you didn't and wouldn't source them. All when there was no need to. Again, I am not supporting the argument that says Edelman > Welker. I think the nature of the teams they each played on makes it an apples/oranges thing. And again to be clear forced to choose between them, in their primes, I'd probably go with Welker but in this offense I just might take Troy Brown over either of them.

Might have, and if he didnt have to extend so far he might have caught it. Your hypothetical situations aren't any more valid or compelling than mine

Agree. I just saw these % listed and it looked about right. I went and checked and they were slightly off. Still the point was made, it was legit and it stands. WW had great hands. JE had been knocked for actually not having the best hands at times. Big Deal.

Was cromartie covering him? May explain why
Can’t recall. Moss was not that good in any of the four playoff games he played for us. Did catch that go ahead touchdown though in the Super Bowl.

I know, the fact is JE is better than WW. I'm glad we agree
And WW had better hands. Can you admit it or does that violate some sworn agreement you made to the all mighty JE?

That is a great memory but as far as helping the pro Welker argument what it does to my mind is further illustrate that Edelman hasn't played with the quality of other WR options on the field that Welker had in his prime.

Sure WW had better regular season hands.

That changes this year

DI posted this earlier

Welker: 75.9% catch % in the playoffs
Edelman: 65.7% catch % in the playoffs

Welker: 26 catches on 32 targets in the SB
Edelman: 24 catches on 37 targets in the SB

So, outside of one catch opportunity, on a play for which most of this board blamed Brady at first, where are you coming up with this theory?
