It’s funny how this team thinks they’re in the driver’s seat in any way. As if the Patriots or another AFC North team actually was willing to take on this abomination of a contract. They should be thrilled at the idea of anyone willing to talk. Hillarious how they make this out to be a rivalry with direct competition too. They are are an arrogant franchise on the precipice of a total rebuild.

Typical Steelers arrogance. They think teams are going to line up to trade multiple firsts for Brown and Bell, because Steelers.

Hint: The other 31 teams all know you're not keeping those guys, because you, as a franchise, can't keep your ****ing mouths shut.

Well seeing as moron gruden coughed up a third for martavis last year, how can you fault them? Everyone knew he was gone! It only takes one moron...I'm sure they'll find it. Thank God it won't be here!!!

Martavis Bryant wasn't making $13 or $15 million last year.

Nobody's taking these guys at that number.

We'll see. I think your underestimating the shiny toy that is AB. And teams that believe in him will see that number as a steal for a "top 2" WR.

He’s a great talent that does things like film private meetings and posts it to social media, skips walkthroughs cuz he’s butt hurt.

Yeah, sure sounds like a BB kind of guy.

The coach who sat Malcolm Butler during a SB is going to sign AB?
Those 2 things have nothing to do with each other.

I am not against getting Brown if we can work the numbers out...some who are saying no to Brown are the same one's who thought BB wouldn't tough Gordon with a ten foot pole. Ask BB if he would like to have a perennial 1300yds 10 TD guy on average. Antonio Brown is a sure Hofer him and Edelman would be criminal.

Gordon and Brown are completely different. Brown is an egomaniacal me-first diva who recorded locker room speeches by his coach and put them on the internet and who begins pouting the second HIS touches don't match his extremely overvalued sense of his own worth. There aren't many players more antithetical to the way the Patriots play and are constructed in the entire league.

Gordon has a life long substance abuse problem but was well-liked and appreciated by everyone on his team.

Note to self. Stranger things have happened. Randy Moss, Albert Haynesworth, Josh Gordon.

In order for him to become a Patriot, you’d obviously need both sides who would want to make that happen. Right now, there’s probably a pretty decent chance that we’d have neither side.

That said, Brown is an absolute beast on the gridiron and would make the on-field product very difficult to stop for the opposition. He could transform this offense in different ways. He’s one of the best wide receivers in the entire league, without a doubt, and we’ve seen Belichick humble some other “big” characters, even if it’s only for a year or two.

I agree. I don’t doubt any of that but it’s just not in the cards

None of those would be stranger except perhaps Haynesworth.

They're taking a huge cap hit regardless. The only difference is that after June 1 that hit can be amortized over two years. The only way the Steelers limit their cap hit is to trade him before March 17 when his roster bonus is due.

Over the cap says that his $21 Million can be amortized over 3 years at $7 Million per. If they trade him prior to June 1, his dead money in 2019 is $21 Million. His 2020 dead money is $14 Million and his dead money in 2021 is $7 Million. That's $21 Million more in dead money. If they are smart, they wait until after June 1.

If they trade him after June 1, I’m pretty sure they can split the dead cap hit almost 50/50, meaning that they’d save about 11-12m this year.

This idea that they’re screwed due to his dead cap hit is false. Even if they took the entire hit this year, they’d still save about 1m dollars, and they’d have a mid-to-high round draft pick, too.

If Over the cap is wrong, someone should tell them: Antonio Brown Contract Details, Salary Cap Charges, Bonus Money, and Contract History | Over The Cap

They have it right, but you are reading their chart completely wrong.

For the 2019 contract year, if the Steelers cut Brown before June 1 they have a $21 million cap hit in year one and a $1 million cap hit in year two. If it's a post June 1 cut, it's $7 milion in year one and $15 million in year two.

The data goes left-right not up-down.

Those 2 things have nothing to do with each other.

Are you saying BB sat Butler because he thought that gave the team the best chance to win that day and that discipline didn't come into it?
