I was never a Randy Moss fan. I never thought that he would be on the Patriots. I never thought he was a "Patriots type player". I thought that he was selfish , lazy, and had a bad attitude.

So when we traded for him I was surprised. But then we got him for a third rounder and he took a pay cut so I figured we could dump him if what I thought was true.

Then in his first statement he said something like "Patriots will see things they have never seen before".And I said "yea, sure".

Well after the entire pre-season and now 7 games, I will say I WAS WRONG. This guy is a freak( in a good way)! He has shown me things I never have seen any other Patriots WR do. He seems to be a team player and have a great attitude and work ethic.

I hope I never have to come back and say I was right. This guy has won me over.:rocker:

One correction, we got him for a fourth rounder. Quickly becoming one of the best trades in not just NFL history, but sports history in general. An absolute steal.

I have to say, I was excited about this trade and hoped we'd see exactly what we're seeing. My concern was *cringe*-- I didn't know if I believed Tom could consistantly throw the deep ball. Now, I know that's awful. But we'd never seen him really have a constant deep threat option before. These guys, though, could score every down if they wanted to. I also didn't think Hoodie would call a game where it was oK just to lay a ball up into coverage like we did today. I didn't give Tommy or Hoodie enough credit.

Apologies to both.

As for Moss-- how exciting is this to watch!? I'm having a really rough month, and everytime I think I'm not going to be able to get myself out of the dumps, the Patriots bail me out.

I have love for Moss. And the Pats.

i'm not sure. i wish we could have kept pick 110 and delected John Bowie instead of oakland taking him.

After Moss scored his first TD, he handed the ball to the ref.

After his second TD, he walked to the endzone and underhanded the ball to a Dolphins child in the stands.

I admit I was wrong about him too. I am glad I was wrong. I initially thought the Pats shouldn't trade for him and was I so wrong.

I hope you guys learned your lesson about listening to the media. Don't ever believe what they say, always do the research yourself.

if you were a randy moss fan before, you shouldnt be surprised..everybody is brainwashed by the media, what they say, you all believe. Randy has had his problems off the field and on the field..mostly off, but if you watch his documentary, he is a excellent genuine stand up country guy, hes been handling balls to children since his days at marshall, and to disabled people in wheelchairs, army vets, etc... the mooning incident? who cares it was funny, randy said he seen over 1000 packers butts, and the squirting the water ball was wrong, but he admitted guilt and said he was sorry and let his emotons get the best of him..he was never selfish, NO teammates, coaches never said anything bad about randy moss, EVER. His situation in Oakland, well, lets just say any superstar WR of his caliber would be in the same position. and I dont know why people say he didnt do crap in Oakland, his first year he did, his 2nd year he didnt..

you're saying this now?

I thought the Randy doubters had already written their mea culpa posts.

Nope! I've waited until I was sure. I don't jump on and off bandwagons every week.
I had posted many times my reservations about Moss. But now, I have enough evidence to admit I was wrong. Now, I hope he doesn't prove me wrong about being wrong.

I was wetting my pants when I got up on the second day of the draft to see that we got Randy Moss. I'll admit I NEVER expected him to have the season he is having but holy **** we need to give him an extension. A few more years of Brady to Moss and together they will break many records and get many rings.

I hear you. He signed and chatted briefly at camp, and I wondered then how long he'd be around.

I'm celebrating being wrong!

I just said that Moss wasn't going to do well just so all you Moss haters wouldn't feel so lonely..........

Ok, I admit I was also wrong about Moss. I wasn't a fan of this move, but said if he could give us one or two good plays a game the trade was worth it. He has given us far more than that.

I think I speak for the board when I say, "Now you'll admit it?!" The first 6 weeks weren't enough????

Moss has made me a believer! He has had more "holy ####" catches this year, than I have seen from anyone since Morgan. It's good to have him on the team!

Anyone know the last time a Patriots player had 10 TD receptions in a season? I know for sure that no Patriot during Belichick's tenure has done so.

You are a man.

One thing I've noticed about him is that he sometimes produces an illusion that he's not motoring at top speed. I believe this is due to his long stride. His legs are so long that he takes fewer steps than the guys chasing him, who actually appear to be working harder.

He makes it "look easy".

This was an illusion that I remember first seeing in high school when we had two sprinters who were pretty good: One short and one tall. Inevitably people were more impressed with the short guy, but the tall guy beat him every time. Looking busy isn't the same as being faster.

Randy's basketball skills are a perfect fit for this occupation. He was simply out-leaping and out-grabbing those guys today.

That defense must dread the thought of coming north later this season. Wow.

I think there have been 2 according to NFL.com. 12 tds in a season is the record (also according to the same article).

Then I'll admit I was wrong too...maybe!

My mistake wasn't Moss. I liked the trade, it was so cheap both in draft compensation and contract that the upside seemed well worth it.

My mistake was the firm conviction that we had to keep Gaffney and/or Caldwell around because there would be an inevitable transition period before Brady could get in sync with his new receiving corps -- especially since Moss and Stallworth had missed so much of training camp. You can't just plug in a receiver like a toaster, right? It takes a lot of reps to develop that timing and mutual understanding, right?

OK, so I was wrong. Probably.

But suppose I was right? Suppose these QB/WR connections are just starting to find their rhythm?
