Not wild about the matchup. The Titans have a front that is a poor man's Giants. It's a slow field. I'm afraid of a 17-14 type game. Anyone?

Your time would be much better spent sitting over in the corner and sulking in extended silence.

If the Patriots can contain Johnson, this should be a blowout win.

There's nobody on the Titans that would be better than the #4 end on the Giants

Locker is incredibly unproven.... except for his accuracy which has proven to be bad. They're also missing Kenny Britt (who is injured anyways, but still).

The Patriots defense hasn't has a chance to be devastated with injuries yet so they'll be tough. They'll stop the run and force Locker to beat them. Which he won't be able to do.

I'm a little nervous, only because the starting OL hasn't had a lot of reps together as a unit. If it takes them a couple games to gel, the defense is young (athletic and talented, but young) and may not be ready to win a game for us in week one. Overall, I'm not really nervous per se, just not going to be shocked if this game is sloppier than we'd like it to be (win or lose).

I think if we were playing this same Titans team in week 17, we'd mop the floor with them. Week 1 is always a little wacky across the league while teams figure out who they are. This year's Pats are no exception.

I am not worried, but I am not seeing this game as a blow out. The Pats are on the road vs. a young team who nearly made the playoffs last year. I am sure they will be extremely pumped up because if they win, what a statement they will make to the Texans and the rest of the league!

I am nervous about any game, but the Pats are meeting the Titans at the right time. Locker will take time to get into a groove and Kenny Britt is out. I am not afraid of the Titans right now. At the end of the year, that would probably be different. They will need some time though.

im not Nervous at all its the first game of the season i am excited and i would love to see the pats win 17 to 14 cause that would mean the defense is geting better

Every game is a challenge. I'm just incredibly pumped that the season is starting.

Going to be a thumping, rest easy. Brady will get it going through the air early and they won't have the ability to catch-up without some huge home-run plays.

Somebody pull up that one stat... QB's in their first year of starting have an abysmal record against BB, and I can't see that changing. We'll play for the run, and with our offense, they'll have to go to the air to catch up.

I don't see why anyone would be nervous really... I'm predicting 31-17, with at least one of their TDs coming in garbage time.

I'm not nervous - I'm jacked to see the starters on the field together for the first time. The defense is vastly improved if the pre-season gave us a hint of what these guys can do. I am psyched to see them implement an actual game plan to shut down a rookie QB. Don't know if we'll have a predict the score this year, but my guess is 31-14.

The game I'm very interested to see is Bills at Jets. We've all been bloviating about how bad the Jets are offensively and the Bills are bragging about their new defense and pass rush. Time to put up or shut up. Best part? One of them goes home with an L.

Chris Johnson isn't the player he once was. This shouldn't be a close game.

I get nervous before every game but that doesn't mean we shouldn't win. If they can block for Brady and stuff Johnson it should be a double digit win.

I'm not afraid at all, but then again, my lack of fear hasn't prevented the Pats from losing at times in the past.

This. Tennessee won't be a bad team, and, playing at home with all the energy and emotion that comes with that, they could be a real test right off the bat. I think the Pats' OL could have problems, not only b/c Tennessee has a pretty decent DL, but because they showed us very little in the preseason and there hasn't been enough time for them to really gel yet. So I expect a less-than-stellar offensive performance from the Pats on Sunday.

I do think New England will win, but I think it might be closer than a lot of people would guess. NE 23, Ten 20.

(I know I had predicted a bigger win in another thread but that was when I thought Waters would come back...and yes, at this point I would think he would be very helpful to them)

This is true. His YPC tells the story - in 2009, he was at 5.6, and last year he was down to 4.0. Still above average, but he doesn't rip off 40+ yard TD runs like he used to. I blame Jeff Fisher.

Never nervous for week 1's. In our 3 super bowl wins, 2 of them started with a loss on week 1 to teams that didn't even go on to finish with a winning record. The other one we barely eeked out a win thanks to a late missed FG. I'm more nervous about something like what happened in the 2008 opener than the actual game itself.
