Right, plus there is the train that runs there now too. Directly to one of the gates. So definitely not bad getting there now. Of course it can take 15-20 minutes sometimes to get out of the parking lot if you leave at the worst point, but still no biggie.

Never been to Gillette. It's tough to get there from Boston? Long drive? Train?

Let's just say that it takes more than 15-20 minutes to get out of my parking SPOT at Gillette, to say nothing of getting out of the lot.

Lol, that sucks! Sorry to hear. The Meadowlands wasn't even that bad before the road upgrades.

It's about a 40-45-50 minute drive from most parts of "downtown" Boston. For example, I entered the address from BU and it gave me a 41 minute trek to the stadium, which is oddly located in the suburbs near residential homes (Foxborough).

EDIT: There was a youtube vid showing the Pats buses driving through the residential neighborhood and arriving at the stadium, which really put things in perspective for someone like myself who has not had the opportunity to see it in person. Unfortunately, I cannot find the video, but someone else may know what I'm referring to.

And you may have to cross state lines, but it is far, far easier to get to MetLife from NYC than it is to get to Gillette from Boston.

Most of the fans of either team don't come from NYC or Boston.

They did try recently. Somewhat. The West Side Stadium attempt. Now I'm a Jersey guy, so I'm happy they're still here, but the nyc stadium woulda been pretty cool. Think it was James Dolan (Knicks n Rangers owner) who stopped it. He wanted a monopoly on indoor city sports/events.

Can't beat outdoor and in Jersey, but an indoor stadium in NY would've been pretty damn fun. Tailgate on the Jersey side, take the ferry over and have the city bars/restaurants as well (like Yankee Stadium and I imagine Fenway).

I live on the East Side of Manhattan, so I'd have had the best of both worlds: a subway ride to watch the Pats once a year (they'd add extra trains on game day) or a taxi ride to a location a few blocks away and no congestion because I live on the other side of town. Hell, on a nice day, I could walk! I might also have decided to take in an NFC East game or two.

Yes, Beach St is only accessible to residents and those with VIP passes on game day. Mechanic St is exit 8 if you can't use Beach you should be getting off at exit 9.

He has never once thrown someone under the bus. He always takes the blame on his shoulders. He has never been involved in drugs or any kind of criminal activity in his 16 years in the league.

If he is not the best quarterback of all time he is the second best.

The man is a shining knight of what the NFL should be looking to represent its players. The consummate story of the underdog done good through sheer determination and grit.

Instead he and his reputation is perhaps forever marred because this NFL Commissioner didn't want egg on his face after a bogus, headhunting charge by a man who worked for the Patriots most hated rival for over 20 years.

So sorry no, not quite the same thing as the Jets being too cheap to pay Fitzgerald.
