Alan Branch Suspended

He's got to keep his weight up somehow.

Seriously though, players should be able to smoke if they want. No way in hell is it a PED.... IMO if anything, it's in and of itself its own punishment by causing a player to think slower/be lazier.
Shouldn't test for anything that isn't performance enhancing. Be a crack head if you want, who cares?

Exactly, if you want to be kicked off your team for declining performance because you're a pothead, that's on you. I know quite a few people that are very high-functioning pot smokers though. I'm definitely not one.... I need to make sure I don't have anything that requires thinking or effort the next day, but that's just me.

The offense is 50 trillion times better this year.
Yeah. Aside from that, the fact that they hold the #1 seed, have a boatload more talent on the offensive side of the ball, are better on the defensive side of the ball, and have better coaching on both sides of the ball, this team is JUST LIKE the 2009 squad.

I mean comparing the likes of Leigh Bodden, Big Bang Clock Merriweather, Brandon McGowan, Tully Banta-Cain, Chris Baker and Sam Aiken to this team is like comparing a Hoopty to a freaking Rolls Royce.

Hamilton was kind of a beast in run defense before he got injured

Agreed, I was really pleased with him. I don't think him being the third guy in a 3-tackle rotation is a huge liability or anything, which is the best you can reasonably hope for from your fourth DT. If the appeal can delay Branch's suspension until Hamilton is back to 100% (or if he is already), then we should be okay.

Is it actually weed? Weed isn't like, the adderall of drug suspensions right?

I kinda feel for the guy. We got him because he had serious problems with alcohol. Maybe the weed kept the booze at bay for the guy. I don't know what it's like to have a serious addictive personality and I don't want to find out. After major surgery I tossed all my meds away. No oxy for me. Not taking the chance.

Bodden at least was pretty good in 2009. Not Malcolm Butler good, but fine. The rest is dead on though, the 2009 team just wasn't all that good. Brady wasn't 100%, we had no talent in the passing game after Moss and Welker, the line was worse, and the defense was significantly worse at every level. Back in 2009, we would've been grateful for this year's D because they do actually get stops and pressure the QB sometimes. To the extent that we're upset about the defense this year, it's because it's regressed so much from 2014 and 2015.

Oxy is your friend.

But, like friends who stay over for the weekend, you want to enjoy them being with you until you get everything accomplished, but not so long that you start to depend on them being there.

As a matter of fact, Oxy's been my friend the past couple of days (Kidney stone a/k/a the most ridiculously small thing to ever make you wish you were dead).

I think its time Branch stops letting the NFL* interfering with his life ..
.

Our Dline has not been a consistent front all season.Part of the D's issues.

The good thing is that pot drug tests frequently get reduced on appeal. The bad news is he is one of the best d-linemen the Pats have.

This season is looking more and more like 2009 minus a gimpy Brady.
or 2012 minus a injured gronk. That defense also couldnt stop flacco and jim caldwell in the playoffs.

Becomes legal in MA..and thinks he can go wild...(was probably already going wild)

NFL needs to start looking into changing it's marijuana laws now that what 9 states made it legal and more and more are to follow?

Too bad goodell isn't as concerned about players beating women and the long term affects of concussions as he is about players taking a toke of weed

Just my 2 cents...
