Where the talking heads have a guy "rated" doesn't matter much if you want the guy and some other team drafting soon after you wants him, too.

And haven't you ever wondered how many much better safeties were drafted after Richards was?
After watching Richards play 3 years, I can' imagine many worse safeties.

They're not related.

I think I said that once here and someone else replied with an ostensibly reliable source that said they were uncle and nephew.

Ask and ye shall receive...

Sony the Shiny, Damaged Goods Toy Michelle says hello

The Invisible, Slow Little Duke (but Not of Dorchester) Dawson also says hello

80 draft picks without Billy taking even ONE of them all say hello

Christian Sam & Thanksdad Izzo say hello with the Foxborough Flu

Banana Barrio says hello

Danny nyEtling says goodbye while throwing another INT

Keion Crossedup says Whew

And you're ok with that pile of crap?

I've got to admit that Danny Nyetling is a good one! (@Tony2046 will weep. ) But if "Thanksdad" is supposed to be Larry Izzo, you're wrong on that one.

They've had bad luck with injuries to wide receivers and Wynn, and Edelman's suspension is a big blow, but otherwise the roster's in pretty good shape. I just hope that we don't have to watch Brian Hoyer take a meaningful snap.

What are the Falcons saying about their acquisition of former Patriots safety Jordan Richards, whom they acquired for a conditional 2020 seventh-round pick?

  • GM Thomas Dimitroff: "I'm not the same person I was when those photos were taken...I hadn't realized that copies still existed from the Ken Walter dossier. How many times must a man pay for his mistakes? What about the photos of the other guys? How is this happening to me? I just traded for Jordan freakin' Richards?"

  • Head coach Dan Quinn: "Tom seemed aggravated and nervous, and came to me with the suggestion of trading for Jordan Richards. I thought he was joking so started laughing my azz off. He looked at me with dead eyes and said "we're making the deal." I am so confused.''

I haven't been able to find any information from any source documenting an immediate familial relationship. I'd think that, if they were related, it would be repeated in every media mention as if it was part of his name, as in, "Ryan Izzo, son/nephew of former Patriot Larry Izzo..."

I looked it up when Izzo was drafted and it turns out , IIRC, that there are somewhere around 35,000 people in the world with the surname "Izzo", something like 7,000 in the U.S. Chances are that Ryan and Larry are distantly related, sure. But Ryan's signing by the Pats was far from nepotism.

I get it.

I would note that we are carrying 2 players to replace Richards, McCourty at safety, and Grissom on special teams.

No. I'm not ok with that pile of crap. But you insist on spewing it every chance you get because you think you're smarter than BB and every other GM in the NFL. Yet, you have zero rings and insist on spewing it despite the fact that it's worthless..

Grissom doesn't replace Richards on Special Teams. Grissom plays the line on Special Teams. Richards was the Personal protector replacing Ebner.

Dante must have a long list of acceptable OL's. We need to pick up at least 3, including the Practice Squad. I suspect that we'll be signing a backup veteran OT/OG.

I'd say JMac, indirectly at safety, and probably more like Grigsby on ST, and possibly in some SS snaps. Kind of a nitpick, though.

What's your beef with BB? All he's done is put together the greatest run in NFL history for the last 19 years. Unprecedented success.

Captain Stone is of the belief that his zero rings and zero knowledge of these players intangibles makes him a better evaluator of players than anyone in the NFL. He feels the need to deign us with his presence because it would be an insult to his superior intellect (sic) to have to work in the NFL against all these inferior scouts, coaches, and GMs.

The only problem with including Grigsby is that he's actually replacing Marquis Flowers on STs..

That's the thing, though: he didn't test athletically very well at all.

Hmm...
40 - 4.59
20 - 2.64
10 - 1.58

Bench- 13
Vertical - 34 1/2
Broad - 09'03
Shuttle: 4.22
3-Cone: 6.74

Those are Richards numbers.. Other than the Broadjump, those are numbers you'd expect from a safety. The problem I saw with Richards is that his head couldn't make his body do what it needed to do by reacting.. He had to think about it.

Valentine is a bit of a shock to me
It shouldn't be a real shock: Vinnie was way, Way, WAY over-drafted, especially when one realizes that if the Emperor was looking at DTs at the end of the 3rd round, then the far superior Andrew Billings, Hassan Ridgeway & Willie Henry were all still available. Vinnie shouldn't have been drafted until the 7TH round, at the earliest. Yet Another waste of a top-100 pick that Nobody projected as a top-100 pick; but that's Little Billy for you, always trying to prove that he's the smartest guy in the room.

You feel threatened by Captain Marshmallow? Day drinking?
