Very good chance Colts win the second match up with Tenn. It is the last game of the season. And if Tenn has clinched and Colts need a win for a wild card Tenn will probably rest starters, Tenn owes the Colts one from last year.

I hope they don't and the colts lose to the titans and their chance at a wild card spot. Swift justice for their colluding last year.

I personally have not given up hope on the #2 seed. If NE sweeps the Bills and beats Pitt, they'll have the inside track. And frankly, I haven't been buying the Pitt hype all year. Great D, but that OL is their undoing.

To put it realistically, 11-5 with a win over Pitt (and assuming AFCE title) will get the Pats #2 seed this year.

The Steelers have a very tough remaining schedule. Now, they'll probably be favored in most of those remaining games, but there are more than a few where it wouldn't be a shock for them to lose. I would say it's unlikely that 11-5 can get a bye, especially if we don't beat Pittsburgh, but it's not impossible.

And Flacco has looked terrible at times, especially in the Colts game. Ryan has been inconsistent as well. The life of a first year starter/Rookie.

Baltimore's defense will keep them in the hunt as long as the offense can score, which may take more of the creativity they showed last week. But the AFC North could be won be either the Steelers, Browns or Ravens. Naturally the Steelers are the favorite, but they have a tough 2nd half schedule.

Historically, yes. Let's give Titans the #1 seed at 14-2 or 12-4 or whatever. I think we all agree the winner of the AFCW is not going 12-4 or even 11-5.

That leaves Pitt who is currently 5-2 with these games left:

If they would just need to lose 2 more games (assuming NE beats them) to go 11-5. With a murderer's row of Skins, Colts, SD, Cowboys, Ravens & Titans still on the plate, I think they could easily drop 2 if not more.

But even if they go 11-5 and the Pats sweep (or even split with) the Bills en route to a 11-5 record, they hold the tie break with Pitt (as well as Denver in the off-chance they go 11-5 to win the West).

The only scenario where 11-5 wouldn't get the Pats #2 is if the Chargers literally win the rest of their games or Denver only loses one more. (Assuming 11-5 or worse Pitt with Pats beating them).

Shades of 2001 where 11-5 earned Pats the #2.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Miami make a run as the Bills pull up lame down the stretch. Where we fit in is anybodies guess as we seem to be inconsistent week to week. The miami game was NO fluke and I wouldn't be surprised to see them handle us as well down the road. Their O/D lines seem to be top tier on both sides. I was at the Miami game and Long absolutely dominated 93. Pennington isn't going to make mistakes and he wont hit homeruns, but whats new there? Keep your eye on the fish...

they suck. old noodle arm makes plenty of mistakes. as much as i hate to say it, bretts could make a run. and not because of favre-cheese, but because of their improved defense. good thing though they have that BB poser manboobs, and we all know how foolish it is when a fool tries to imitate a genius

I'm actually talking about this year.

According to that site, if the Pats go 10-6 (5-4 the rest of the way), they have a ~3% chance of a first-round bye. Getting to 11-5 (6-3) gives them a ~25% chance, but 12-4 (7-2) gives them a ~70% chance of a first-round bye.
