AFC East Division Race (10/13 - Patriots Now on Top After Bills Loss)

Why wouldn’t we playing for the 1,2 or 3 seed?
Correct - right now with the Steelers losing to the Bengals, we are I believe the #3 seed with the Colts and Chargers technically ahead of us

Those two teams play each other this weekend so if the Pats beat the Titans, I believe the Pats would then be the #2 seed - i.e. we would have a bye if the playoffs started Sunday - which they don't of course

But seeing as the Pats have SIX games against teams that are currently winless or have only ONE win, we'd actually be in good shape to hold onto that seeding with only the Bucs a game that looks like a probable loss on their schedule

Just Keep Winning.

IDGAS if we just keep winning.

Is this accurate?

Could be.
However first tie breaks his head to head, so Pitt has us right now. We would move ahead of them with 5 wins, but Pitt would have played once less game.

There is only 1 bye now.

But yes there is no way in hell i would expect the Colts or Chargers to run away from us.
1 seed should be the goal right now.

That's not fair to Jamarcus Russell.
Russell's problem is that he has rocks for brains. No one could ever say he wasn't trying out there.
Richardson tapped out on a 4th quarter drive because he was tired.
The Colts forum is convinced someone will trade them a 4th rounder for AR. I have no idea what they think this guy is. Surely that's no quarterback, not at the NFL level.

Luckily for them Chris Ballard is smarter than most of his fanbase. He finally had a chance to fully solve one of his franchise's perennial headaches and he pounced on it with prejudice.

I think Danny Dimes will very probably be in Indianapolis for most of the balance of his career.

I can't imagine anyone will waste draft capital on Anthony Richardson. Then again, stranger things have happened.

Drake Maye have been so Consistent: we haven't had this kind of consistency at QB since you know...

I can't see it either. But after his contract is over someone might be like "I can fix him" and stash him on a practice squad

This doesn't surprise.
I said several times in several posts in the preseason that once you find "the guy" at QB, your "rebuild" gets expedited exponentially.
The only question was if/when Drake could, or would make that leap.
As of right now, he appears to have made that leap.
If you have a top 5 QB, your SB windows opens, and stays open as long your QB plays at that level, regardless of the rest of your roster.
Just so happens the rest of our roster is pretty decent, the Oline is pass blocking way better, and we have really NFL coaching.
I'm not saying we are winning the SB, but I'm not surprised at our leap. It's always contingent on QB play, and we got a good one.
If at all, there could be a surprise SB winner, it's this year. Too many imperfect teams and injured teams.

Chargers - oline health ravaged. Not sure how they can come from that .
Ravens - in dump before Lamar comes back
Bengals - will lose out without burrow
Dolphins - spent force
Chiefs - mixed bag
Bills - lack firepower on offense and defense
Steelers - just got lucky with weak schedule and some run of green
Colts - matter of time before they implode
Jags - are jags
Denver - depending too much on defense .

Nfc

Eagles - having offensive production issues and poor secondary
Tampa - looks good , but is beatable
49ers - injury ridden
Vikings - cannot go deep
Commanders - similar to pats
Bears - don't trust too much on Caleb

Others - don't matter

Patriots - touchwood health in luck and maye playing at MVP level we stand a chance, minor one, but we do.

I think health permitting , we have a decent team that with some luck , consistency and some minor improvements in CB ,RB and WR play can sneak in the 7th ring. In this imperfect world , we do have the horses for the courses.

If I need to win a fantasy football league Josh Allen is my guy.

If I actually need to win a Super Bowl... nah.

Allen is the best player in football, it's not his fault they can't put a championship team around him.

The Patriots with the 1st seed, Lmao, that would be hilarious.

Allen is the league MVP, you're a homer moron.
As I pointed out elsewhere MVP isn't something you get based on Merit, it's something you get based on how popular you are with sports media.

I think it's funny a fan base who, correctly, defended Tom for decades against the attacks of people who said Rodgers or Manning or whoever were better because they didn't have Tom's defense or weren't in his easy division or other horseshit is now tossing Josh Allen's salad because he allegedly doesn't have a defense.

He's a piker, he'll never win anything unless he pulls a Peyton in Super Bowl 50 and has his team carry him to one.

Well, technically we had consistently BAD qb play, so there’s that…
