So who you got?
I have to think about it. I know that nick wright and Shannon sharpe and max kellerman will be running their mouths all week again about how we’re a terrible road team. I hope our team uses it as motivation like they did yesterday.

So who you got?
Could go either way, which is what I just mentioned. It’s not a game that I would put money on. Give me a few days to marinate in the match-ups and I’ll tag you in my predict the score post.

Pass defense metrics since Gilmore-Jackson-McCourty became the primary CB grouping against Minnesota:

59.4% Comp pct.
236 yards per game
80.7 passer rating
28.8% third down

These numbers include a 69 yard miracle TD as well as garbage time vs LAC. While the team & the run defense didn’t show up fully to Miami/Pitt during this stretch, the pass defense did travel (besides the miracle, oops).

They are playing like their best pass defense since Revis/Browner started to gel in 2014. I’m feeling relatively confident because we have the horses to limit KC’s offense, especially if the run defense can be good enough.

I see where skip is coming from

OK.

Can I assume you realize you were wrong calling the season over?

We will see. If the season ends in a Lombardi trophy being hoisted over the team's head, I'll make a thread about it, link the post, and happily eat some crow.

Why even play the game? Why fly out to KC? Going by what you’ve said, the team should clean out their lockers and go home.

You just can't admit when you're wrong. Probably shouldn't have expected any less from you.

Anytime BB makes a error like this, it gets blown up. The fact is, he has the Pats playing good enough to go to the big game and that is all that counts. Every coach has WTF?? moments, it's just that BB has far fewer than most every other coach. If he was perfect, the Pats would literally be unbeatable. You could argue the only reason TB12 had yet another bye is because Belichick put together a team that went 11-5.

What? Is the season a success or a failure if they don't win the Lombardi?

Did they win the Super Bowl by beating the Chargers? And you really don't want to attack me on a personal level. I'll let this one slide.

A success. It is the 8th consecutive AFCCG. If you can't call being part of the final four for that long a success then you have to check your expectations.

The expectations for me and what I base the season as a success or failure upon is a Super Bowl win. It has been that way and it will be that way until Bill and Brady are gone. I made that quite clear about a month ago when I hurt SBB's feelings which has resulted in the manchild creepily stalking me around the forum. You have the GOAT HC and the GOAT QB. We aren't the early 2000's Colts that based success on playoff or AFCCG appearances. Quite the contrary, actually, because we mocked those fans. Our season is a success if we win the Lombardi. It is a failure if we don't. Hence, if we don't win the Lombardi, the season has been effectively over. Trying to move the goal posts now to define success in a different way doesn't change that. This was always very clear in my analysis. If I was wrong about that, I'll happily eat crow. I've done that many, many, many times in the past.

Making the final four is a successful season. But we were never debating that you said the "season was over" in early December and we are one of four teams still playing in late January. It is ok to admit you were wrong.

I think they have played beyond expectations given their losses to Tennessee, Miami, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh and Detroit. Not only are they in the AFCCG, they are playing well heading into that game.

I just looked at the Chiefs schedule and they haven't faced much competition at home this year. They barely beat the Ravens 27-24 and lost to the Chargers. Other than that they were playing mediocre teams at Arrowhead.

I've actually had a pretty well documented history of admitting I'm wrong if I am wrong. Do we really need to go down this road again? I have better things to do than to go dig up posts in which I made it clear that we were talking about winning the Super Bowl. And you can go on and think that making the final four means it is a successful season with the GOAT HC and QB, but you're basically an early 2000's Colts fan at that point. A team that's won two Super Bowls in the past five years and made three does not define success by a conference championship game visit or win. Success is going all the way. Don't believe me? Listen to the team. They're not resting on their laurels for making the conference title game. Why are you?
