Adjusted Expectations?

The Chiefs are still the Juggernaut to beat before you can go to the SB. Dont be fooled because they do not look as dominating as usual.

KC is simply loaded at WR - Rice, Brown, JuJu, Worthy, Thornton, Kelce may as well be a WR.

Buffalo game is huge because winning that makes AFCE championship very probable
Owning the tiebreaker with them is very important.

Maybe they beat TB & Buffalo but inexplicably lose to the Giants. The NFL is weird.

Hopefully it's not a repeat of 2019. Beat the bad teams and lose to every good team. The difference being they had a 42 year old QB with one foot out the door that year. Whereas this year they have a 23 year old promising QB.

Not conceding but the Bills would have to win out to win the AFC East. I can't see them doing that with that First Place schedule: if they do it they deserve it all.

Big picture, the Bills aren't winning the Super Bowl anytime soon. Division win or not.

I'll go a step further and say the Patriots win one before the Bills

The BUF game is indeed very important.

I don't see how winning the BUF game makes the next game all that more probable.

No need to adjust my expectations.

I find it crazy that half the board expected a losing record, and people would get beat up for even mentioning the possibility of making the playoffs.

It is fair given how badly the ‘23 and ‘24 teams performed against other bad teams.

Still, I would have found it hard to look at the schedule and rosters on paper and not see this being a 9 win season, minimum. Anything less would have signaled, to be, arrested development.

For the division as long as the loss isn't to us they can afford one more loss and probably 2 unless we win all but vs them. Really for both of us that game means everything.

Jets x2
Bengals
Giants
Dolphins

The pats should beat these teams unless they turn it over multiple times. These are some of the worst defenses they’ll face all year.

The pats will likely either be the 5 seed or the 1 seed depending on if they beat the Bills at home. It’s hard to set realistic expectations until then. A SB run as the 5 seed is a tough sell IMO.
While not predicting it - I can see NE losing a game in that span. Maybe two.

Their team should be able to beat those, but there’s always randomness in the league + this team is still ascending, learning to win…

I had them at 10-7 for the season and a Wild Card round loss, so I'll swing up to 13-4 (they'll win at least one of TB, Buff, and Balt) with...well...**** it...

I had them at 9-10 wins. Never thought of myself as such an insufferable pessimist
I believe that the beginning odds were 8.5 (or was it 7.5), so you were over from the beginning. My recall is that I was just slightly on the over, hoping that we might have a chance for 10 wins and a playoff position.

My expectations have done a 180 this year, going from expecting disappointment on most sundays to enjoying Pats football this year and actually being interested in other league games again. There is still a lot of inexperience on the roster but they are learning to not beat themselves. Sacks, turnovers, and penalties happen but they are getting better. People say they have an easy schedule. It is what it is, but they did beat Buffalo on white out night, and that says a lot to me. I think they have a chance to surprise.

Excited for the rest of the season. I think anyone ahead of us is beatable. The only game that could take us for a surprise is Bengals if their defense decides to play to an extremely basic level and not that of a group of third graders, which they could. That's a wild offense. Should be a good measure for our defense regardless if theirs shows up, a good litmus test heading into the end of the season.

Pretty much where i was. I thought 11 wins was possible if everything went GREAT. Now it looks like the worst case scenario (if maye stays healthy)
