Aaron Hernandez charged with murder

I can't believe he tweeted "good morning" the next day.

I didn't say we should victim blame, I'm saying its not as simple as Lloyd talked to someone and Hernandez flipped out and executed him.

I'm also saying everyone is acting as if Lloyd was killed for no apparent logical reason. If this is gang related activity it's not at all a stretch to say something gang related he did had something to do with his death.

I don't see why killing a gang member In a gang dispute is worse than killing a normal family friend for talking to the wrong person, which is what you are saying.

Actually, all I'm saying is that it's better to NOT be a gansta than to be a gangsta, basically and in a nutshell. I have no idea if this is somehow gang related or not, but that's my opinion.

Could be that Hernandez did this just because he's a straight up ******* and he got pissed off over whatever. Dunno, but that happens too. I mean people kill complete strangers sometimes...all the time, actually. I don't think that there necessarily has to be an explanation that HAS to make sense to the average Joe here.

One thing I wouldn't do is assume anything about the victim with zero evidence to back it up. Of course we're all wondering what triggered this murder...

I dunno but this seems like a pretty strong case against Hernandez :suspicious:

"Around 2:30 a.m. that same day, the prosecutor said, Lloyd was last seen leaving his Boston home with Hernandez in a silver Nissan Altima.
Less than an hour later, surveillance cameras at the North Attleborough industrial park showed the vehicle heading toward the remote area where Lloyd's body was later found, McCauley said.
"The car goes down there at 3:22," McCauley said. "Four minutes later, the car is visible again. During the interval between 3:23 and 3:27, people who were working the overnight shift hear gunshots."
Minutes later, surveillance video from Hernandez's home security system shows the former NFL player arriving back at his house with two other people, according to the district attorney. Hernandez appears to be holding a firearm, McCauley said.
"The defendant goes walking through the house with the gun in his hand. That is captured in the video. ... And they all go down to the basement," McCauley said. "Once in the basement, the surveillance gets shut off."
McCauley said the gun Hernandez was carrying in the surveillance video has not been found."

So sad to see such talent wasted. Really you think killing a guy is a solution? You couldn't just let this go on, you felt he had to die. Just sad. I really liked ahern as a football player.

Just watched the whole 26 minute arraignment of AH. I've also spent the last 22 years professionally in Forensics and LE. After watching the footage, I've come to 2 {very unofficial conclusions based on experience} conclusions.

1) He's totally ****ed.....

2) I'm struck by the totally "thuggary" aspect of the crime. Very typical {sadly} by common street thugs (due to the totally unsophisticated nature of the death), but very atypical of murders committed by "people of means" (so to speak).

Point 2 being the more salient one for me personally. You don't often see this degree of unsophistication in murder committed by people worth MILLIONS of dollars.

Just saying...

His mind was impaired... Sounds like he was seriously wasted and out of his mind.
How the hell do you know? Where you with the murderer at the night in question?

i feel bad for his kid...probably won't grow up with a dad after his father was given everything and threw it all away

I think it really just hit me when ESPN said "he left his house for what might be the last time ever".

He could really be in jail for the rest of his life. I want to feel bad for him, but this was entirely his fault. What a complete idiot. He had so much and just threw it all away because of a seemingly meaningless dispute? Really?

I don't feel any particular connection to Aaron Hernandez now other than he's a former Patriots player at the center of a murder investigation who chose to ignore what a wonderful life opportunity he had in front of him.

Re: Re: Aaron Hernandez charged with murder

That is what is completely stunning to me. You would think it would be much more than that- perhaps the victim had threatened or abused his girlfriend, or that drugs were involved, or that the victim had knowledge of something that might lead to Hernandez being prosecuted.

But no... it all came down to small gossipy talk.

What a horrendous downfall.

It could still very well be any of the things you listed. We need to remember that this story is still evolving. What little we know is just that . . . little. We've barely scratched the surface.

What we have seen is pretty damning stuff, but we do not have enough to truly make strong determinations. It doesn't look good at all for AHern, but we all need to just stay tuned as things continue to develop.

I'm just saddened by the whole murder. You hear about them every day and it seems we take them like a a grain of salt.

Reading about Lloyd's final texts really brings a chilling realization of what this guy had to go through in his final moments. Basically knowing he was gonna die. To me, this is far larger than just the Patriots losing their star TE. I really want justice for Lloyd's family.

I know the reasoning for the murder will come out soon and it's probably going to be so trivial it's going to upset the crap out out of me. Life is just to precious to be snuffed out like that.

Re: Hernandez arraignment starting now

Mo money Mo problems...

Money and success can corrupt a person very easily, this is nothing new, so I'm not getting the whole "He had it all" bit. In some respects it makes perfect sense that this happens to people in such positions.

I recently was thinking of all the trouble I could get into with such a large sum of money and the headaches it could come with. Part of me wants to say no thanks, a small part, lol.

You have bad feelings on money. You should just give all of your money to me...I'll help you out.

Looking over the aspects of this murder it's almost unbelievable someone could be so sloppy in the way the murder went down. Almost a script for what not to do if you plan on murdering someone.

Make sure you are seen on multiple cameras and with a gun.
Rent a car in your name and leave crime evidence in said car upon its return.
Leave evidence at the scene of the crime which is a stones throw away from your house which also is full of evidence.
Arrive back at your home minutes after the murder. Have this captured as evidence to be used against you.
Allow your victim to keep his cell and use it to text messages of concern minutes before being killed.
Make sure people know you have picked up the victim and that a record of your motive for killing him is known.

This almost reads like a script for a comedic mob hit movie or something.

If I didn't know AH was a punk gangster I'd almost think this was a setup.

Very well said +1000000000000

Pretty much details the timeline of what occurred the night of the murder. Looks to me like Hernandez orchestrated it. Can't begin to wrap my head around how stupid this was...for ANY person. The paper trail of evidence is mind boggling. When you factor in who it was committing the crime...it's devastating to think someone could do this to themselves...and to someone else over something so petty.

Haven't posted here since the season, but had to throw something down here.

First, it's sad and awful, someone with so much god-given ability who had it all throwing it down the drain like this. Even more sad and awful is that someone's life is over because of...whatever the dispute was. I feel like the victim is often overshadowed in 'celebrity' criminal situations, but whatever is said about Hernandez, remember that there's a grieving family and someone--whether it be AH or one of his buddies--took that persons life.

Second, it's interesting the double standard that celebrities have in our society. One the one hand, AH's life is forever altered, even if this (amazingly) turns into one giant coincidence. Because of his celebrity this has been 24/7 coverage for over a week now and his guilt has been presumed in the court of public opinion. On the other hand, he has the opportunity--and the means--to retain the best defense money can buy, and statistics show that those with means get better results than those without. I'm sure i'd rather be the celebrity, face planted on every news station in the country but with the best defense money can buy, but it's still a factor.

Finally, as far as the Pats, gotta move on as though he was never a part of the team. The cap hit is huge the next few years, but it's a sunk cost at this point. I'm not sure they necessarily did the right thing--as a society we presume innocence until guilt is proven but does that hold for a 'business'?--but it seems they've decided to cut ties.

I hate what this does to the Pats as a team, but I hate even more that--if the early evidence proves true--someone with the world at his hands was willing to murder someone in cold blood, and that a family is now without a loved one because of it.

The texts from Lloyd are the thing that I think really ties this all together for me. They are Lloyd's way of reaching out from beyond the ******* grave to say 'Aaron Hernandez killed me.'

I was chilled to the bone when I heard that during the arraignment. It's so spooky.
