Please, I'm begging, can we PLEASE be ****ing done with Brady/Belichick ********. You people can't be this dramapilled. It's still infecting virtually every thread.

Both of them are long gone. Brady is an announcer and part-owner of the Raiders. Belichick is coaching at North Carolina, in college no less. There's like 8 people on the entire forum that care about college football in any meaningful way.

The Blocking/Muting stuff doesn't work, because it just ruins threads, making them unreadable, hiding other threads completely.

Can we all just stop, or at least contain it to the Dedicated Schizo Thread (tm)?

There's 4 active threads on the front page on this stupid, pointless topic, all infected by the same 5 usual suspects.

A cool feature for the forum would be a word mute ala what Elon's X can do. If the word appears in a post then that post is hidden.

I did, Ian. It makes the threads unreadable. Alerts for stuff that isn't there, fragments of conversations from dozens of posts missing. I tried it. I know you're doing your best, and in a normal situation it would be more than sufficient. But it's the same 5 people in every thread, doing the same stuff.

I don't know if there's a solution to it, other than trying to get people to actually pay attention to what's happening now, rather than being so obsessed with the past they can't ever post about anything else.

Your ignoring, muting, pinning tools are too complicated to work and they don't prevent yahoos (myself included) from derailing anything.

I looked into trying to reset the loop, hoping that Xenforo had potentially addressed it, but they didn't. So the default function has the same problem. If you have a user on ignore who dominated a given page of posts, you'll have 1 post (or sometimes none) and then the next/prev page buttons. And that is frustrating.

I agree with OP. This dates back to 2020 at least. Constant arguing about who’s better. Constant passive aggressive comments towards other users. The need to bring up Belichick vs Brady at every turn. I remember for a couple years it made the forum unreadable because it was happening in almost every thread.

I just don’t get the obsession with it and it’s getting really weird. Loved Brady but I don’t feel the need to defend the guy from haters everyday. Same can be said for the Belichick glazers.

I appreciate what the Dynasty team accomplished with Bill and Tom at the front of that bus. I doubt that level of dominance in football will ever be matched. I dont mind talking about the past but thats just what its is...the past. I dont want Drake to be a Brady clone nor do I want Vrabel to be Bill 2.0. I want to spend my time here on the board discussing whats going on with this team more so than to keep reliving glory days. That chapter is over and I am excited for the direction/identity of the 2025 Pats.

Its almost like your out on a date with this girl and instead of being interested in her and getting to know her you just want to talk about your X and how great it was. There is now a solution for the ignore function regarding the thread visibility:

Credit @signbabybrady for being the squeaky wheel on this. I just solved the issue when it comes to not being able to see threads started by people on your ignored list, which a lot of other people had been asking for.

You can now toggle the ability to see/not see their threads by opening up the left slideout menu and scrolling down to here, and then you can toggle that box on/off:



If it's toggled on, their threads will be visible. If it's toggled off, they'll remain hidden as they are currently.

So now you can ignore a user, still be able to view their threads, and...
