Jeff Samardzija WR, Notre Dame.
I do not see this.
We can grab 2 stud's on defense at LB and CB not to to pass it up next year.
There will be a WR in the later rounds and also FA's to grab one.

Of course they do. These "experts" see a need at wide receiver, and Samardzija will be one of the top rated ones out there. I don't see it either. But maybe I'm biased because I went to Michigan.

No doubt Belioli and Weis will be talking about ND's seniors (especially Messrs. Samardzija, Zbikowski, and--dare I say it--Carlson ) next spring. At this point, the only way Belioli could worry me is if they use the round 1 picks on a QB or special teams.

I think BB has said it previously in the past. He only wants guys that have football as the most important thing in their life.

Sam is a pitcher in the Cubs minor league system, that presents problems for BB.

Zib is a pro boxer on the side. That would present a bit lesser of a problem for BB I think.

I think Samardzzzz will play baseball. I think the length of career and potential $$$ is greater but you never know which sport drives them....ask Mr. Henson.

By the time full evals are done Simardijza will drop down in the draft... Desire, commitment, quickness, willingness to go over the middle, alligator arms, speed. He does present a good red zone threat, but his effort is wildly inconsistent. Rhema McKnight will be a better pro.

Baseball for Samardzzz, though I think you miss his best ability which is his in air agility when going for the ball. The man adjusts brilliantly. But he's not a Pro Football player in my opinion.

McKnight - ifhis knee isn't an issue, then I agree with you

I like all three mentioned here, but agree the best for pro football may be McKnight.

I always watching Jeff Samardzija during a ND game. I think he's got the tools to go to the next level. For some reason, he reminds me of a young Mark Bavaro with his attitude ( I know, different position). I'd love to see him in a Pat's uniform.

As we all know. Anyone projected to go to us in a mock definately
isn't going to be picked by the Pats. A lot of ND players will be projected
to go to us because of Weis. I'm sure we will draft some over the next
few years. Way too early to project. I want defense in the 1st round.
DB and pass-rusher. DE if 4-3. OLB if 3-4. I'd like to take another db
in round 2. But, that's what I thought this year. Maroney and Jackson
just too good to pass up.

It's almost pointless making projections.

last year people wondered if we should trade up in the 2nd for Martin Nance. He went undrafted.

SAfeties are hard to call. I remember Ernest Shazor (undrafted), Darnell Bing (4th), and Ohio State safety last year (forgot his name) who I think also went undrafted. All were projected high.

Dwayne Slay was projected high at one point, but ran poorly, was drafted maybe in the 5th and cut.

Zbitowski or whatever....he may look great but he might end up undrafted. You never know.

Smardiza, wasn't he shut out in last year's bowl game? He looks kind of awkward to me. Not a first round pick by any stretch, but what do I know.

Last year's draft threw me for a loop. Prospects like Nance, Hass, Shazor etc., who were highly rated by the draftniks did not impress NFL scouts.

I'd like the Pats to address the CB and ILB positions in round 1.

We all know the Patriots can go in any direction and what they did this year was very smart especially putting it to the Colts so next year it does look like Linebacker,Cornerback,Wide Receiver would be some of the top positions to look at and with that being said I like the pick nfldraftcoutdown has the Patriots getting but we will see its always nice to speculate. I would be very
sursprised if we go Offense three years in a row with the first pick. Leon Hall
CB of Michigan sounds like a good pick.

im hoping for corner aswell..Leon Hall or McCauley AWWW Yea.

too bad Tarrel Brown got caught with weed..DeAndre Jackson has a chance to be a Patriot..was Hobb's teammate and hes a top 5 CB i think right now. Cason possiblity..Aaron Ross.

1 overrated CB prospect might be Daymeion Hughes..not sure how hes doing today but scouts are saying it.

Michael Griffin played very well today for Texas and im loving him.

if anyone is watching Georgia game right now..look at Quentin Moses because hes a 3-4 OLb i believe
