Wow. Injuries play such a big part on who gets to tbe Big Dance. You can be lucky or very unlucky.
Last season Pats finish with 4 on IR (iirc).
This season we had that b4 Game 1.

There's definitely a very fine line to walk. Too far in one direction and the league is barbaric and doesn't care about its players' health - in the opposite direction is overregulating the game to death by reaching a point where players can barely play because they're kept off the field or told that most hits on the field are too damaging.

All the while there are critics suggesting that the NFL is going too far or not far enough in their favored direction.

It's too bad that NFL leadership is so underwhelming. It'd be very interesting to see, in some parallel universe, how a competent league office would handle a challenge that is almost certain to define the future of the league, and possibly the entire game, over the next 50 years.
