Yes. I'd read in one of the books Reign? that he'd done lots of 4th down analysis. Look at this year's decisions for further indication.

I'm sure he'll review and update his strategy (if necessary) after veting this new paper for proper methodology and analysis. I'll bet he's sent the original to some stats prof he knows just to validate the math, etc.

I think that they DO know richard. Belichick is well known for reading their technical stuff, evaluating if it's accurate and appropriate and then for actually having the sack to USE it. One more reason why he's superior to most. He's intrinsically smarter, works harder and works smarter. And, he's had some good fortune, like drafting Brady in the 6th. You could say he made his luck there 1st by hiring **** Reighbein (sp?) who recommended Brady, and 2nd by listening to his advice and deciding to act on it.
