35 million in cap space, are there NO quality WRs or TEs available?

Its amazing that Brady won 12 games last season. His pass to Godwin was a dime. His TD pass to Evans was perfect.

Im more concerned about Cam if he keeps running.

Of course you are. News flash

We could have a macabre pool: which QB will miss a game from injury first, Cam or Tom?

Cam is 31 years old and has a history of recent injury and runs a lot. Tom has had chronic elbow issues, is in an offense requiring him to throw deep a lot and is 43 years old. My money would be on Tom not making it to the end of the season, as it's never been done at 43 years old. Lots of mobile/running QB's these days make it through a season, although Cam is 31, which is getting up there.

You try to use Cams purported youth when compared to Brady as if it means anything.

RG3 has started in 1 NFL game since his career was shortened at 26 years old. Still in the NFL hanging on though.

Mike Vicks last full season was at 26 years old. Slowly the injurys took their toll until his exit from the NFL at 35.

Because running QBs are sacked more. Because being at the bottom of a pile of falling down OL and DL is not where you want your starting QB to be. Too many OL get their legs twisted and crushed when a 300 lb player falls on them.

Because there is a reason why NFL team pay Left Tackles so much money to protect the QB and a reason why you better have a good OL. Out of the pocket, the QB is fair game and absent the rules that protect him behind the line of scrimmage.

Pretty sure OBJ is very available right now. Whether we'd want him at the price the Browns would want, who knows. Guessing he'd be cheap.

Browns are a pile of crap.
Thanks to @KontradictioN we know OBJ loves
Brown piles of crap. So he ain't leaving

People said that about Randy Moss in 06. He might mope his way out of town to where the Browns just want him gone and we get him for a third and he is rejuvenated playing with Cam who I believe he already has a relationship with.
We've certainly tried this before. It worked with Moss, and it was starting to work with AB before he hit the event horizon of crazy and stupid

The Patriots did not have cap space available to go after players early in free agency, and that is when premier free agents are signed. That cap space only became available when players like Hightower opted out, and at that point the free agency cupboard was bare. Signing a familiar name is no guarantee he will immediately make an impact either, between time taken to learn a new offense and terminology, and whether or not he is in football shape after no training camp.

6 posts in we have the thread closer

There’s your answer. Allen Robinson. You
Are going to need to trade for him and then pay him 20 million. That’s what it will take.

You guys want a receiver? Or is price a factor now?

There was not one single offensive play call for Byrd.
They don't usually "call a play" to go to one guy.

Don't you think that he could have been option 1 or 2 on a lot of plays, but was not open? It not like he has such a reputation that he would be an effective decoy, either. I wonder how often he got separation.

To answer the OP:

1) Nope, there are no longer any difference-makers or even solid Upgrayedds at WR hanging-out on the street, though I still want Bill to sign Hakeem Butler to the PS at least...

2) TE is a different matter however, because we already have two yutes in the building with supposedly some talent, so all we really need there is a steady eddie veteran to show them how it's done, like Algae Crumpler in 2010...and such as Charles Clay now e.g...

This team needs a number 1 or two receiver unless you have hope harry can be that guy but he doesn’t have that speed that puts fear into an opposing defense. If they got a number 1 or 2 it would push harry to a 3rd option to go with Meyers or gunner if he comes back. This team would be a super bowl contender.

Honestly the problem with OBJ is we have to trade probably a 1st or a 2nd and this year that could look stupid because we could have a high pick
