Boley is Virginia's LT but I think he's an ideal size to play on the interior. Grades last year weren't amazing but were fine.

Run blocking - 69.2
Pass blocking - 70.2 (2 sacks, 16 pressures)

Where he gets interesting is his report from the Freaks List. A 4.50 shuttle. Jared Wilson was 4.56 for comparison. The broad jump is fractionally behind Wilson, Campbell, Blake Miller and Iheanachor.

The son of Super Bowl champion linebacker Michael Boley, McKale has had an outstanding career at UVA and looks like he’s going to have a promising one in the NFL. At 6-5 1/2, 330 pounds, the younger Boley broad jumped 9 feet, 3 1/2 inches this offseason. He’s also hit 19.12 mph on the GPS and clocked a 4.50 in the 5-10-5 shuttle (that would have topped the best time by any O-lineman at this year’s NFL combine by .04 seconds) and 7.60 in the 3-cone drill.

Another reason to watch Virginia this year and another Virginia lineman on the Freaks list.

Thomas missed all of last year with a foot injury but in '24 he only gave up 3 sacks and 9 pressures while playing RT. I believe he's lining up at RG this year. He was a team captain in '24.

I'm always on the lookout for OL with low shuttle times - it's quite predictive of success in the NFL.

No. 44: Makilan Thomas, Virginia, OL​

A standout at Arkansas State, Thomas transferred to Virginia before last season but broke his foot two days into camp. The 6-2 1/2, 320-pounder has had an excellent offseason, showcasing some impressive strength and athleticism, especially for his size. He did 480 pounds on a close-grip bench press and back-squatted 600 pounds for three reps with every rep faster than 0.60 m/s.

He vertical jumped 30 1/2 inches and broad jumped 9-2. His 4.38 shuttle time would’ve been the fastest by any O-lineman at the NFL combine in the past three years. His 7.59 3-cone is also quite good. In addition, he hit 18.43 mph on the GPS.

No. 85: Kwabena (Kobe) Asamoah, Rutgers, OG​

The Scarlet Knights went into Ohio State’s backyard to get a key offensive cog in Asamoah, who first cracked their starting lineup late in his true freshman season of 2022. He’s started 25 games at right guard the past two seasons and has emerged as one of the better linemen in the Big Ten. Asamoah has some impressive measurables and strength numbers. The 6-2, 310-pounder’s got excellent length with a 6-10 wingspan, 34-inch arms and 10 5/8-inch hands. This offseason, he squatted 605 pounds and performed pull-ups at 305 pounds with an additional 105 pounds attached.

With our depth at interior OL looking weak, I'm looking for someone with experience at OG and OC.

Justin Evans played center last year and is expected to do so in the coming season. However in '24, he played the entire year at LG.

Anthony Boswell is a center that transferred from Toledo to Houston this summer. As the tweet below says, he's only a RS soph, but only Tengesdahl, Pieper and Shadre Hurst graded above him as an interior OL. He's draft eligible but probably a name for the future.

Hurst is someone I don't know what to do with because of his size. 295lbs cries out for a full time center in the NFL, not something we'll need hopefully. However, he does have three years starting experience at guard, mostly at LG so could, in theory, backup the guard/center spots. And he had elite grades last year. He also has improved year on year in his three years as starter.

Run blocking - 80.9
Pass blocking - 90.5 (1 sack, 7 pressures)

He was 3rd only behind Tengesdahl and Pieper as a run blocker and 2nd only to a Texas Tech center as a pass blocker.

He has only played center and his size doesn't really suggest he can be a backup guard. however....

In two full seasons as a starting center, he hasn't given up a sack and he was the highest graded pass blocking interior OL among returning iOLs with a 90.9 grade last year on top of an 87.5 grade in '24. That's elite grading. Sadly his run blocking isn't as good where he grades in the low 60s.
