2026 UDFA Thread - aka Best Thread Of The Year

They really like Kyle Dixon. I liked his highlight tape that was posted. Now I'm officially in.

The numbers in that post are misleading.

Chism got $25K signing bonus + $234K guaranteed salary. Dixon is only getting $5K signing bonus + $247.5K guaranteed salary; the difference is that the PS salary went up from $13,000 to $13,750 a week.

Also, UDFA salary guarantees include all salary received from any team. The Pats are gambling that he'll be somewhere in the league this year, not specifically their 53 or PS.

Im still only on page 3 of this thread, so the answer may lie ahead.Forgive me if it does, but I'm typing it now, before I forget, as I tend to do these days. Did Diego Pavia get picked up yet? I always feel bad for those that "slide" but I dont think this guy helped himself. Im not suggesting we should kick the tires, but I'd be inetersted to see if hes got to get a real job now.

Chism is NOT fast, but FAST is only 1 part(Thornton was ridiculous.. "Have to draft fast" nonsense)
Edelman wasn't fast, Welker wasn't either...Boldin would be a parasite at 4.71....Jerry Rice would be UDFA.
Top end doesn't matter as much as people think IMO.

I think Kindle Vildor, Kenneth Harris, Karon Prunty and Channing Canada will battle it out for the roster spots behind Gonzo, Davis and Jones. These four are kind of tweeners, not big... but not small slot guys either. Asante Samuel Sr was the patron saint of Patriot tweeners.

They will likely carry five, which means two will make it. They can probably sneak some on the PS afterwards also.

Vildor has the upper hand, he has been in the league since 2020. Kenneth Harris is strong like Vildor plus he's the most agile and really explosive, Prunty has two inches on Harris and was drafted. Canada at 4.3 forty is the fastest. It's a good group to bring in and kick the tires on.
Canada’s 4.3 will help him on special teams.

Quick search on X suggests he's still unsigned.

Between Williams, Barmore, Durden, and Farmer, there won’t be a lot of snaps left for a fifth guy. They also have Leonard Taylor and Jeremiah Pharms. Those mocks never made much sense to me.
Well, comparing official draft weights, Williams was 284, Barmore 290, Durden 290, and Farmer 305. Taylor 304 and Pharms 274.
Tonga was 325.
Tonga definitely played more of a pure Nose than that group, logging around 40% of the snaps. So a different profile.
He played 40% of the snaps in the Super Bowl, so it wasn't that the coaches decided to leverage a different type of defensive line over the course of the season.
So the defense featured a Nose frequently in run situations. This draft was very deep in Nose Tackles.
So I was surprised they didn't opt for one, even in UDFA.
Maybe Gregory will beef up a bit for that role?

I wonder who is going to sign Zxavian Harris? He has some serious baggage to go with that talent...

I know he had the two arrests for DUI (and fleeing) and DV (and resisting arrest).

But he is extremely talented and productive and I'm surprised nobody has picked him up yet. He must have an absolutely appalling character outwith those arrests

Alot of teams want to be streaky clean and dont want the bad press...and wont structure something that can help a person like that...

Yeah, but I'm sure the Chiefs will end up picking him up

That UNT offense was a wagon last year. Scored less than 31 points in a game once. The QB Mestemaker will be a 1st rounder next year. He transferred to Okie St, I believe. He lit up that SD State defense in the bowl game, even though they were missing their best players (but so was UNT), including Chris Johnson, who went in the first this year.
