As Belichick has said in the past, a quality te is the most dangerous player a qb/ offense can have.
I agree completely. As great as Moss was, Gronk at his peak was better than Moss at his peak. He could do so much more and was a match up nightmare.
On top of that, he created mismatches for his teamates: rbs and wrs.
Im obviously not comparing Raridon to the GOAT te. But even just a good te can transform an offense.
It will take a few years for him to reach his peak as the position has a steep learning curve. But Im excited to see his progress.

A great tight end is like a baseball player who can play a gold glove centerfield and hit like a left fielder. They make songs about those guys. And similarly Gronk will be part of the NFL lore for a long time.

Your typical tight end is a baseball tweener that hits like a typical center fielder and fields like a typical left fielder.

I love that Maye is hell bent on going at elite corners in this league. He doesn’t let a CB’s pedigree or prestige dictate his aggressive play style. It could be Gonzo (practice), Surtain, Stingley, Ward, Mitchell etc…he doesn’t care. Many QBs are too timid/reluctant to do so, and it hinders their ability to create big plays.

I had mixed feelings about his comments when he said he was eager to go at Gonzo. I like the confidence. I don’t like the eagerness. I want to see Drake feeling he doesn’t have to prove himself by challenging the best CB when there’s an easier completion available. Taking the latter is what got Brady the reputation as a game manager. Would he be universally acclaimed as the GOAT if he’d always challenged the best CBs or would he be known as just another talented gunslinger QB? I’d much rather have Checkdown Charlie winning games by taking easy completions than a heroic QB going out of his way to challenge the best CBs on the field because he’s hell bent on showing his mettle. Drake seems to me to be inclined to prefer heroics, running or passing. I’d rather see a winning team than a heroic QB, and I think there are times the latter is the enemy of the former.
