There were several people who really liked Prunty once his name got mentioned.

Sometimes, people just get focused and forget other prospects. Ask Manx. He did it with Jacas.

Yup, Manx was all over Jacas.
I liked DDS more.
I sincerely hope Manx is right, and I’m wrong!!

Solid? He’s played better than I thought he would (recently) but it’s not good enough to be 1st off the bench. He’s fine if he can take it up a notch from where he is now…then we’re talking.

The problem with ILB is that there is only so much you can do each year. There was a lot of speculation about what the Pats would do in the 1st two rounds. A lot of talk back and forth between OT, Edge and ILB. Ultimately, the Pats were forced to move up to take both Lomu and Jacas while missing out on ILB. But make not mistake. ALL 3 positions were ones of need. They addressed 2 of the 3 with excellent young players who should be 6-10 year players barring injury.

ILB will be a focus for the 2027 draft. Not sure what other positions will be priorities just yet. Possibly Guard and DT.

Another take from NFL Network. Judy Battista just commented that after attending both the Colts and Eagles joint practices with the Patriots that it was clear that AJ Brown is the best wide receiver on the field “regardless of who is the other team”.

Replay of Sal Pal interview coming up soon. I expect they’ll be getting a lot of mileage out of it.

That's not hard to say when the other 2 teams are missing their top receivers.. Alex Pierce was out for the Colts and neither Smith nor Lemon were partaking for the Eagles.

Willie Lampkin was a draft binkie of mine, but I saw him as a FB.

Yeah.. I know. I remember. I was hoping for him to be brought in as a UDFA. To be used as a FB while he put weight on. Now he's over 290 and more than holding his own.. If he's cut by the Eagles, the Pats need to waiver claim him, honestly.

Right now it seems our first 4 picks are progressing well. Lomu is a year away from being an impact player, imho, but should be serviceable depth as a swing tackle. He shows great athleticism and quick feet, but lacks the strength and power to be a dominant player you want in a first round pick, but we knew this going in, and at just 21, I have every hope he will get there.

Jacas has shown flashes that he can be a contributor THIS season and can be a guy who can consistently pressure the QB at least, if not be an actual double digit sacker type as a rookie.

Riardon might end up being our most impactful rookie with a lot of upside as well.

Prunty has been surprisingly effective after being labeled as the great overreach of the draft. He will add depth to the CB room

I was outraged with they picked Morton, but from what I see, he is a decent 7th round QB prospect, and we need 3 on the roster or PS for the season though I still kinda wish for JimmyG reunion.

In an ideal world, would be a technology where I could take Crownover's body and pair it with Lomu's feet and have an all-pro LT for 10 years or better yet, BRYANT's body with Lomu's feet

Obi hasn't popped on defense is a crowded field and the BC kid not only has an unpronounceable name, but he was also my LEAST favorite pick and was a reach in the 7th round when we could have an athletic DL freak from Africa that the Eagles took and are willing to develop for a few years. WE should have been that team.

All in all, a decent rookie haul of rookies given our very low drafting position.
