Article says he actually ran a 4.45 on pro day: "He clocked 4.45s on the 40-Yard-Dash, a 33-inch vertical, and a 8.65 Relative Athletic Score."

I’m very curious why he was on nobody’s boards. PFF college had very high grades on him, great height to speed ratio.

I get that’s not all the context needed, but you’d think it would at least get him on a few radars as an undrafted guy. Wolf clearly liked the analytics here

He was one of the guys we had in for a Top 30 visit.

If the Pats want to now draft an RB it will need to be someone who didn't visit.

With Cyrus being picked their board shrunk even more. I hope this inspires them to pick outside of it. I know some GMs get too locked into picking guys they did their 'due diligence' on. When in reality it is mostly a crap shoot and you never know for sure if they will keep their nose clean or not.

How is it off-the-wall if they had him in for a 30 visit? The Pats did their homework on this guy - it's on everyone else for not noticing. Prunty was either the BPA or best CB left on the board. I'm liking what I see.

Clearly, we rely on analytics when we draft.

Dude its round 5 not round 2. Get a grip. Roughly 8.9% ever get a long term contract. Its ok. You will be just fine.

I've been going back and forth between here and Yahoo sports tracking the picks. Punty is so obscure they had Nothing on him, they skipped to the next pick after putting punty up as taken by the pats

I simply said the pick left much to be desired.

But it just doesn't. It fills a need and they had him in on a 30 visit. Its not a flyer. The know him. The 5th round is perfect on a guy like this.

Dolphins picked Kevin Coleman Jr. at #177. He was another guy I liked. He was picked 102 slots after Miami picked Caleb Douglas and I expect he'll be the far better player. They also drafted Chris Bell. Dolphins having a nice day. 10 picks made, 3 still left to go.
