2026 Draft: WR

Josh Cameron has only one drop on 102 targets this year. That's all. Furthermore, he's never had more than 2 drops in a season.

I think I like Ted Hurst more than Tory Horton last year. They're similar but Hurst has more fluidity to his game than Horton who was a bit more linear. And I say this in the context of being a fan of Horton.

Edit: According to Dane Brugler, Hurst is no 1 in the FBS for catches of 20 yards or more (34) over the last two years.
Matt Harmon has the same comp as me...which is nice.

I'm a little concerned about Tyren Montgomery's overall speed - a couple of times at the Senior bowl I've thought he didn't look that quick. The combine will be big for him. I do love his smoothness, route running and hands though.

Budget Chris Bell

I'm not convinced by Josh Cameron's speed and explosiveness - I'm looking forward to seeing him at the combine - and his blocking grade isn't great, but he does look like a guy you could draft as a developmental future Mack Hollins replacement.

Virgil plays stronger than he looks too.

I firmly believe that we need two types of WR. Either this year or next year. This year would be better to get one of them just for development sake.

1. The Mack Hollins replacement. Excellent blocker, offers a deep threat but also big enough and strong enough to go over the middle. Kyle Williams offers some of that but not all. I think Williams is more a Boutte replacement.

2. The Diggs replacement. Other than Diggs we don't really have a high volume receiver and ideally I want someone who can play the slot and Z who can offer those high volume receptions - the chain mover. Chism offers that from the slot, but not from the Z.

The best candidates

I like these to differing degrees, being on these lists is not a full endorsement. I just think these are the best profiles to fit those roles.

The Mack Hollins

a. Denzel Boston
b. Chris Bell
c. Elijah Sarratt
d. CJ Daniels
e. Malachi Fields
f. De'Zhaun Stribling
g. Ted Hurst (maybe. He's probably more Boutte than Hollins)
h. Jeff Caldwell
I. Josh Cameron
J. Dillon Bell?

The Stefon Diggs

(I'm ruling out slot only guys)

a. Omar Cooper Jr
b. Germie Bernard
c. Skyler Bell
d. Antonio Williams
e. De'Zhaun Stribling
f. Kendrick Law
g. Reggie Virgil (Another that probably fits the Hollins/Williams role better).
h. Cyrus Allen
