2026 Draft: WR

Very impressed with Bell and Tate this weekend. Hard for me to justify picking a WR high, specially before knowing what we really have in Williams. But if we can get a big receiver like one of these guys (was already a big fan of Brazzel), I’d be more than fine with that.

I'm ok with an X WR 2nd round. Bell or Brazell, Ja'Kobi Lane. Boston or Tate if they somehow slip.

Ian Strong 3rd round also would be solid.

I think Tyson goes top 10 and Lemon top 15.

Agreed. Depending on where we go in round one, X-WR or safety are my preferences in round 2.

Edit: Forgot about Michael Trigg who's probably worth consideration after yesterday.

In defense of Kayshon Boutte

I saw this chart on the Bills gameday thread which show how well WRs are seperating this year in the NFL and how well they perform at the catchpoint. Look at the 3 names inside the circle. Maybe the alpha-X isn't such a need after all, we just need to get Boutte the ball more.

I never thought that Boutte would progress like he has. Good for him. A paycheck is coming.

I LOVE Boutte as a #4:

Alpha X rookie
Z Williams
Slot Diggs
Alpha #4 Boutte

Hollins, Douglas and Chism can fight for depth.

The ability to put 4 starting-caliber WRs on the field would be amazing.

I try not to read much or anything about a guy before i look at him so I'm not biasing myself. But it is nice to know we saw the same thing

And of course Bell has a career best game right after my write up : P Not sure it would have moved him up or not though.

8 receptions for 129 yards and a TD in the first half.

I don't agree with BobDigital about Bell. Top 50 pick to me, and the style of received who I think would ideally complement Diggs and Kyle Williams.
That's fair. (massive edit to expand on point lol)

How i rank WRs depends on the draft and the WR room in the draft as well. There are 2 rankings of good drafts and bad draft for the position and for overall. Next year i think will be a good draft. So i go by those general 'good draft' outlines.

RD 1- if you draft a WR anywhere in round 1, I want a guy who is projected as a #1 WR. No promises of course, but he projects to be that. Of course the top should be the elite #1s but even in the mid or late in the draft you want guys you feel confident will one day fill that role for you.
RD 2 - In round 2 i am more okay picking #2 WRs, but i also look for guys with elite traits or upside potential to maybe have an outside chance to be #1s. You don't think it will happen, but they either have that elite raw thing you hope you can tap into, are just more raw overall in general.
RD 3 - This is where you start to draft hard ceiling #2s (in good years)

Of course it really starts getting dicey between picks 50-64. At that point depending on the draft is where you start to see many teams show more flexibility on not going for guys with a chance to be elite anymore. Personally I think this is teams overvaluing higher end #2 WRs. They fill up stat sheets nicely but they just don't have as much impact on a game as that would indicate

Last year i think teams made some odd picks in this range. Williams and TeSlaa for example were round 3 guys and they probably made more sense in the 2nd rounds due to their elite traits and upside over guys like Bech and Harris who to me seem to have less upside than the former. i may have put them above in the moment but now in retrospect i would have gone with the higher upside players.

To me Bell doesn't have the upside of guys like Williams and TeSlaa. He will likely have more production fast and may have more overall, but unlike them he seems a little more capped which i would be hesitant to take in the 2nd round (depending on the year... some years you take that late in the second).

I know some people here have a strong difference of opinion on that who ranked them higher and that is fine. But i would ask such people, do you believe you are valuing capped #2 WRs too much or i am under valuing them?

CJ Daniels, Miami, 6-2, 205

Having watched him last night, I think this is a name we'll be hearing more of. He has good size and good speed (4.4s). He only has 1 drop this season and a 100% contested catch rate, admittedly only on 3 attempts).

Check out the first catch

Emeka Egbuka (7-173) and Jaxon Smth- Njigba (8-132) = Makai Lemon.
