I do have to keep remembering that Hollins is the only 6'4 wr we have. So that alone plus his experience is vital. We just project to be a far better offense all around. Williams, Hollins outside, Boutte and Diggs handling the boundaries and sidelines, pop in the slot. Plus Henry at TE.. henerderson at RB.. geesh.. this will put alot of pressure on defenses.
There’s more to it than just that. OL will be better, maybe not much but even a little will give Drake Maye more time to find the best WR option when he’s throwing it. Plus I think we can expect Maye will be making a sophomore jump, more or less it’ll still be a help. Add those factors with Josh McD knowing how to use the players he’s got. Henderson will be another dangerous WR option when he’s not carrying the ball or blocking. Opposing DCs will have no idea of what trends to expect…

I’m excited to see how this team shapes up in camp, and matures over the course of the entire season. It will be fun to watch!

I don't know why folks think that Hollins is lower than Boutte on the depth chart.
Hollins is 100% making this team. We've already seen that if you're not one of Vrabel's guys, your days are numbered. @Real fan 02 He's a lock, I know he's less athletic than the other shiny toys you prefer. Doesn't matter. They brought him in to change culture.

And you believe everything you read? After what we saw in year 1, you really think someone wants to poach Baker? Seriously? Were you one of the once calling for a first round pick for Joe Milton too?

CBS sports had Baker as an A+ pick. He was and is a raw prospect who has had terrible coaching. I think that lots of WR needy teams might take a chance to take baker off our Practice Squad for the required 3 weeks to assess him better.
====
As a side note, Robinson was a B+ choice.

The difference is he's been in the league for a year. Hobgoblin is correct in this case, he has no value today. Now, he goes out week 1 in the pre-season and has 6 catches and 85 yards, now you have an asset. It ain't much, but something. If he does it twice, then you're thinking you keep him and he makes the team.

Lol.. okay.. you and @mgteich have convinced me.. he will make the team I just realized he signed a 2 year deal.. I actually think Hollins is pretty athletic. I just am not accepting Boutte won't like you want him to be not be on the team..

IMO Hollins won't be at X or Z. I think McDaniels will put him in the slot or use him like a move TE. I think Boutte will have a place somewhere on the outside. Different positions and skill sets.
What's funny is boutee is a home grown guy already has a connection with the franchise. At qb, but posters want to get rid of him.. lol.. unbelievable. To your point Boutte is the outside guy. I forsee it like this.. diggs, pop and Boutte with Williams will be the primary guys.. Hollins will be in on running plays and red zone, trick plays

I disagree and think Hollins is in over Boutte and Bourne, even though I really like both those guys. For one thing he's a terrific ST guy, he did good things in Buffalo, and he's our only tall receiver.
I've softened My stance on Hollins being here.. but I have to respectfully disagree Boutte isn't going anywhere especially on a cheap rookie deal

I don't NOT want him, I just have no loyalty to these guys who were under producers on a team that was 8-26 over two seasons. IF he can get his **** together fine. If not...

I would note that Douglas, Polk and Baker are all on cheap rookie teams.

Of course, Douglas should be a near lock, so we are left with 3 on rookie deals plus Bourne who is likely to be traded.

Is Douglas such a lock if we have candidates to do slot and short passing game duties, who may be more reliable?

Could Pop be a surprise trade?

With baker it is strictly maturity. He has the talent and work ethics it's some players take long to mature than others. Boutte went through his moments as well.

I'm not sure how much talent Baker actually has...his highlights are littered with impressive catches, but he always looks like he is covered, very rarely gets good separation....I think alot of people overlooked it last year because the he makes some crazy contested catches.....but if he is covered while playing at UCF, I don't have alot of faith in him getting open in the league. Combine that with the fact that he seemed to have issues learning the relatively simple WC playbook, I think he is going to be practice squad at best.

If others are viewed as more reliable, then Douglas will be gone, and under those circumstances, it wouldn't be a surprise. I don't think that this will happen.

Ok fair enough.. but in. ****ty situation he produced he had all 3 TD'S on the team that went for more than 30 yards last season. Let's be happy we have 2 late round picks- that are actually in the teams plans. Boutte has been working out with Drake in the organization and working hard. That's what you want to see.. if he was down at the foxy lady then ok you have a case..

Polk and baker as they were 2nd and 4th rounders thier pay scale is higher.. Boutte is make pennies in comparison to thier contracts.. but hey if you get your wish to have Boutte gone then it would mean other guy's are Ballin out I'm camp. So I'm good with it.

I hear you.

Diggs
Hollins
Williams
Pop

Those guys are making the roster. I appreciate your loyalty, but you have Baker, Polk, Boutte, Blankumsee and Jiles fighting for two roster spots. I would not be attached to any of them. Just my opinion, as @Pape says, YAMMV.

EDIT: it really feels like they are cleaning house from anyone with the previous regime stink on them.

EDIT2: Bourne is on the fighting for a spot list.

It’s pretty clear from Vrabel’s roster moves that he’s not hesitating to make cuts. It won’t be at all surprising to see any WRs cut, if they’re not producing. I expect we will see the best six and that might end up including four rookies if they’re the best ballers in camp.

I like all the guys listed of course.. I'd just like Boutte there.. if he can continue to develop and stays the course and does what Vrabel and Josh ask of him I can see.. him part of things. But I also hear you on what Vrabel is trying to establish. Do you believe we only go with 4?

Absolutely not. I think they'll carry 6 and 1 on the PS. My guess is if Jiles or Blankumsee can fog a mirror, one of them makes the PS. If Boutte, Bourne or Polk or Baker eff up this summer at all with off the field stuff, they'll be made examples of. Head on swivel thing that Taylor Lewan spoke of. Six guys (I missed Bourne) fighting for two spots. Entitled divas will be shown the door, so Baker's advisors should be telling him to not buy a house at this time. He has the hardest road IMO. Bourne has the biggest cap savings, so he's probably dead man walking, but he's also the guy most likely to get picked up on waivers. Jiles and Blankumsee (like Winnipesaukee?) are long shots. That would mean Boutte and Polk are the favorites to stick, pre-camp. Just gotta stay out of the police blotter.

Agreed with everything posted. Well I really like Williams of course I just hope he's already in the playbook becuase we know how rookies can struggle here. His speed and separation is so badly needed in this offense. KB I don't forsee here, Polk strictly due to his draft status and Injury will be given more time. Go figure N'Keal Harry last 3 seasons before he was gone. As well as Tyquan Thornton. Guys best walk the walk and talk the talk or as you said they will be gone.

I'm sorry but I think this is a serious exaggeration. That still looks like one of the worst skill position groups in the NFL. I don't think it's putting too much pressure on defenses.
