I suspect that 12 positions are truly up for grabs.

Absolutely not. Glenn even told the Pats to F off for an interview for the HC job.
That was such a weird situation.

The Pats obviously wanted Vrabel, and also entertained Ben Johnson. But they had to comply with the Rooney Rule. They interviewed two rando's that weren't qualified (I think Byron Leftwich and Pep Hamilton) to comply, but then the media flipped out and said those are "sham" interviews and they need to interview actually qualified minority candidates. So, they then tried to interview Aaron Glenn, and Glenn said **** off, this isn't a real interview either.

So... yeah. Glenn wasn't available to interview for a couple weeks due to the playoffs restrictions anyway... The rule just needs to be re-worked.

I wouldn't want him, but lets be real here.
He said no because he knew the interview was a shame and a waste off his time.
I have zero problems with that.

Good for him, I hope he’s successful in his career. I really liked him during his time in NE. The Pats will get some money back on his deal too as an offset the longer he’s collecting game checks.
