That's where the 6-of-12 with the INT does provide context. To your point - jumping to conclusions about a player in July is absolutely something that shouldn't be happening. Granted, there will still be a handful of people, I'm sure, who will now be waiting to see if it's a trend or just an off day, but it sort of is what it is there.

Yeah thats about it. I just would expect more out of him. After hearing "watch out for Maye" and then he goes 6-12 in shorts and shells? Waiting for the camp that he comes in and looks at the defense and says I am eating you up day after day.

I don't know about Crownover. I doubt they carry only 1 IOL backup in Ben Brown, and 3 backup OT's. I know Lomu may be able to play some Guard in a pinch, but it looks like Rupcich could make the 53. He has center experience too.

The Pats drafted Solder @ 17 overall in 2011. I wanted them to draft Cam Jordan, who has had a HOF career.

15 years later, the Pats drafted Caleb Lomu @ 28. I think Lomu will be better than Nate Solder.

Also hoping Gabe Jacas will be our Cam Jordan.

I highly doubt they trade him. The people (media) and some here are on crack if they think he isn't worth much more than a 5th or a 6th. They are smoking the really really good stuff. He is worth nothing less than a 3rd or at worst a 4th. That kind of draft pick, if you got a player of Bouttes' caliber in the draft you would be doing cartwheels.

He ain't going anywhere.

If a 6th round pick looks flat in camp, he is usually not grabbed at cutdown. As the season progresses and guys get hurt, yes, but every team is cutting a Crownover in the fans mind. BTW I think he makes the team, just not a lock.

I can imagine Boutte not being too friendly with AJ - who got big money to replace him. I'm still a big Boutte fan, and feel like he may become more needed by the first month of the season.

Borwn didn't get ANYTHING to replace Boutte. Brown had his deal before Boutte played his 2nd season.

Every season the Pats have these kind of guys that look so hopeful.

If he sticks, Prentice would be that safety valve that Maye lacked last season.
