I don’t necessarily think so. Davis took away the cross if that’s what the receiver did and the safety was there to take away the double move. That’s what combination coverage looks like.
It's probably the one thing he's NOT better at than Brady at this point in his career.
No doubt Brady is the GOAT but he wasn't this good this fast - and Maye's football smarts are off the chart (Brady became a genius over time)
But as we saw other teams were so infuriated by Brady's Dink and Dunk prowess that they mocked him - but it's something that not every QB seems to be able to do. I think Maye will develop that skill but it's one of the main areas he needs to work on.
