Running a 4.35 would be exceptional, but running a 4.25 really would set the cat amongst the pigeons.

This is why I'd rather we got free agent WRs this year. Our track record with drafting them is just appalling.

This may be the first year to see if anything has really changed....Full year removed from BB, the FO grading system has been in place for a year, we'll see what happens.

The problem with FAs of course, is the translation to the EP offense, which has been a issue in the past.

I would, as a matter of course, draft a high upside WR on day 3 every year. Law of averages say that one will hit at some stage.

Can someone explain to me why Jayden Higgins is a round or two better than Pat Bryant? I see very similar players and actually prefer Bryant a little bit - he looks smoother and quicker than Daniels whilst only being an inch shorter. Bryant's body control is top notch too.

Jayden Higgins? I assume it could just be Illinois wasn't very good this past season so nobody watched his games.

Just watched all of Bryant's touches this year. You know who came to mind immediately? Meyers. Good chain-mover. Reliable hands and good enough routes. Seems to make himself available for his quarterback. I'm not sure yet that he's good enough against press to play the X (he gets sent in motion a decent amount or plays in the slot; I didn't see a single catch where he got challenged and had to hand-fight off the line), but he's definitely a player. I could see him as a younger upgrade on Bourne, for example. Nice find.

Just watched all of Bryant's touches this year. You know who came to mind immediately? Meyers. Good chain-mover. Reliable hands and good enough routes. Seems to make himself available for his quarterback. I'm not sure yet that he's good enough against press to play the X (he gets sent in motion a decent amount or plays in the slot; I didn't see a single catch where he got challenged and had to hand-fight off the line), but he's definitely a player. I could see him as a younger upgrade on Bourne, for example. Nice find.

I agree with your observations about him against press. Meyers is an interesting comp.

I like both of them a lot. The differences to me are the Higgins is almost 2 inches taller by senior bowl measurements (6-2 1/8 vs 6-3 3/4). Higgins is more nuanced in his routes, better pacing and has more burst after catch. Bryant looks like he runs 1 speed to me. Both have a tendency to struggle against physical press corners, need to improve hands at LOS and releases. Bryant telegraphs is shorter routes and seems to me like he does not manipulate defenders as well as Higgins.

They both have great hands and get manufactured touches, but they both can win ISO routes at times but very inconsistent. I think they are both developmental projects, but to me Bryant seems more raw. Another thing is that Higgins seems to decelerate better for curls/comebacks.

Just amateur opinion from watching cut ups, I did not watch any all-22 so this is not as detailed as it needs to be and I probably missed things. Silo of salt

No, that was a great breakdown. Thank you. It's interesting what you say about Higgins' speed v Bryant because I think Higgins looks sluggish to me, at least when he's trying to get up to top speed whereas Bryant has better acceleration. I'll rewatch both with your thoughts on both and see if I can get a fix on them.

If that was the case they would have gone on to have success elsewhere where the playbooks are easier. None did.

Brady took the EP system to Tampa Bay and the WRs there were fine learning the EP system at Brady's level.

Malcolm Mitchell looked fine as a rookie playing with Brady. So did D Branch. Lots of WRs integrated well. I think Cooper Kupp could pick it up.

Sure it is tough for some receivers but the difficulty is exaggerated except for a few who never should have been here in the 1st place, Ocho Cinco, N'Keal, etc.

I would love to see some 04 personnel packages. Henry, Hooper (resigned), Warren (draft after trade down), Terrence Ferguson (draft in 4th). Start with them spread and all motion into the LOS and run Mondre then next play same formation and motion running routes and seams.
