2025 Draft: WRs

Burden is definitely one with a high ceiling but low floor.

Where as a guy like Savion Williams has a high ceiling but also a high floor because at worst he'd be a solid gadget threat in short yardage.

I'd add, I wasn't necessarily advocating for him in the 1st, either. Just if he fell to the 2nd. If we've moved down from 4, or up from 38, I think it has to be for an LT in that range. If we addressed OT 1st, then I was just thinking out loud about his upside.
I only mentioned the 1st round because most mocks I have seen suggest he will go late 1st. I have seen people rank him as their top WR because of the things you mentioned.

Was just listening to reception perception with Matt Harmon. I love his breakdowns of WR's. I don't think he's necessarily connected with NFL guys but he just charts what he sees on film and gives his opinion. So his opinion on the WR situation may not be coming from any type of inside info. Just an observation.

But basically, the addition of Hollins and Diggs, to go with Douglas, gives the Patriots more of a traditional set of 3 starting WR's. The players fitting specific roles will be good for the development for Maye, even if they aren't long term answers. He said its possible the Patriots just roll with that trio and the young guys(Boutte, Baker, Polk) to see exactly what they have.

It'd be interesting if they didnt go WR in the 1st 3 rounds, but its possible they don't. If we go Carter and move up for an LT, it wouldn't be surprising.

That's simply Unacceptable.

Why?

From all accounts Polk looked good in camp/practice. We haven't even seen Baker on the field really and he has the higher upside IMO. The only one in jeopardy of getting cut is Bourne and he was probably our best WR not that long ago.

I’ll agree with Captain on this one. I just think it’d be ridiculous to not take at least one receiver in this draft, even if it’s round 3.

You can give the guys from last year a chance and still add competition to the room.

I'm all for competition but top 3 rounds are for guys you fully intend on giving roster spots. If BPA happens to be a WR then you take him but given the lack of talent in this class that's not likely to happen.

1. Travis Hunter
2. Tet McMillan
3. Luther Burden
4. Jalen Royals
5. Jayden Higgins
6. Emeka Egbuka
7. Jaylin Noel
8. Matthew Golden
9. Jack Bech
10. Tre Harris
11. Kyle Williams

Are we guilty of ignoring Jack Bech too much? Excellent character, excellent WR skills that Vrabel has said he wants. I do think we should be talking about him more.

Steve Palazzolo says he's heard from multiple sources that Isaiah bond has serious character issues. I remember when Bond declared for the draft and Golden hadn't, Dane Brugler tweeted that Texas were glad it was Bond that had declared and not Golden again hinting at Bond not having the greatest character.

Yes, Dude has very good hands and runs good routes. He is very tough to bring down after the catch and he can play inside and outside. Slow-ish straight line, but is able to snap out of breaks. I like him, but there are others that I like more but would not hate if we was a Pat.

I was watching PFF breakdown some day 3 receivers and they stated that Jaylin Lane has a 99th percentile separation grade. So add the fact that he is one of the best separators in CFB too his testing, and you have an excellent fall back to missing out on Jaylin Noel.

I actually prefer Lane to Noel.

Interesting. I think the production is the difficulty there which is night and day between the two. Having said that the offenses are very different too. Lane comes from a much more run-orientated offense.

Surprised as well. One of the best players during practice at the Senior Bowl, won the mvp as well. 6’1 214, so he has size to go along with being savy. Kind of interested to see why he didn’t run the 40 at his pro day. I know it’s not the tell all. You always have the feel good stories like TBrown WChrebet, ABoldin but the kid seems pretty fearless and so you wonder why he wouldn’t. I like him or Horton a lot at the 105 if they don’t land someone before then.

Personally, have been a big fan of Royals but have also come to love Higgins, Noel and Bech. They check all the boxes for me.

Am absolutely intrigued by Tai Felton, Kyle Williams and Jimmy Horn jr on day 3 and wouldn’t be mad whatsoever.

This WR class doesn't have the star elements to it like last year but this is a really good class for depth. All the guys you mention could have as good a career as the first round prospects (excl. Travis Hunter).

Starting to warm up the Kyle Williams from Washington State. He was mad that he ran a 4.40. And when you watch video of him, he actually does look faster on the field than 4.40. Has a running back type body at 5’11” 190, not a beanpole like Thornton. Watch his film, the dude is blazing fast, great on WR screens, plants one foot in the ground, cuts, and he’s gone. Had 1198 yards and 14 TD catches last year. Explosive weapon, and that’s what we need. Probably goes in the 2nd or 3rd round.

manman brought him up Kyle Williams he's not a secret anymore. He makes everyone look like they're running in mud: he has a great release package too. I think he's climb up in the second round now. I like him and also the the Iowa boys Higgins and Noel. My Second Round WR's are....

Kyle Williams

Jayden Higgins

J Noel

Jack Bech.
