People aren’t talking enough about Gonzo getting worked two games in a row going up against any quality receivers
would make for a good thread.

and yeah, burning the last seconds off the clock was frustrating.

David Andrews at the podium last night said many things but one of them was they had a good plan.
Just to clarify, when Andrews said they he was referring to,the Jets.

****ty night. I got into a car accident (my fault) just to come home and watch a train reck on my TV.

Also stupid to play Maye when the game is lost, have him take so many hits but don't call any timeouts that could have gotten him a TD which would have been a great confidence boost.
hope you, or anyone else involved, did not get hurt.

We're seeing WHY Bill was tight lipped for all that time. The less you say, the less that can be used against you.
The less you say to the media the less the players need to worry about their jobs !!! What can be more important than a player knowing he’s part of the solution instead worrying about being part of the problem??? The media is the cancer …

He has the right to remain silent. Anything he says can and will be used against him in a court of public opinion. He has the right to speak to a PR Expert before they ask him any questions.

That's certainly going to be Mayo excuse. This offense is only getting worse by the year.
TBF to Mayo, the problem isn't that the offense has gotten worse, per se, as that the OL is just a complete mess right now, primarily due to injuries. They're down two or three starters ATM.

The Pats offense, through 2 games, has the lowest passing yards of any team in the last ten years. Lowest ever in ten years. You don't think there were other really bad OLs in the last ten years?

When it becomes a statical anomaly you know it is a coaching thing.

So far looks like both of us were right predicting some regression from Gonzalez this season. Up to him to change that.
I think he's been solid overall. Aside from the bail out of the illegal formation where he fell and the late 4th Q where it looked like he wanted to go home, Wilson didn't do much against him.

It's a long season so we'll see how it plays out.

I saw a clip the other day with Mike Reiss the other day, and they were savaging BB for possibly still angling for another HC job.

Whether they had a point or not, I thought it was a really bad look, and provided ammo for why you don’t give the media anything they can use against you.

They looked petty and unappealing.

Is this true even after we've played 3?

I do not know after 3. After 2 games we were about 30 yards less than 2nd place. I posted the tweet. I assume we are the worst after 3 games also, but not sure.

Either way people do not understand "statically horribly bad". Posters think it is a negative but it is a fact. We did not hit rock bottom last year, our stats this year are even worse than last year but posters want to ignore the facts.

How has it not gotten worse?

You can’t blame injuries to a guy who doesn’t belong in the league and a second year jag

I'm just going to run with it based on what you are telling me:

The Pats offense, through 2 weeks, has the 2nd lowest passing yards of any team in the last ten years. And we've already played our 3rd game.

We have 4.8 yds per carry, we have 433 yards on the ground averaging 144 per game
Last year for the season we were 3.9 yards and averaged 95.7

Opponents' vs us have 3.7 yard per carry and 249 yards

Thus, the other teams we play have a worse offensive line and our line is way better than last year.

You can make stats look like anything if you just use stats.

Even passing offense, thru 3 games last year we had 125 pass attempts vs only 77 pass attempts in 2024
In 2023 we have 0 interceptions. in 2023 we had 2 interceptions thru 3 games, after 5 games last year there were 5 TD and 6 interceptions, Good chance our ratio is better in 2024 after 5 games

We know the line is pass blocking badly, we know Jacoby is adequate at best, nobody disputes that, but the offense is completely different than last year, it's a run first team. They had a terrible game on a short week on the road against a pumped opponent. Just throw that one out.
After 2 games, they had 1 win and 1 overtime loss they easily could have won, nobody complained about Mac Jones beating Buffalo never throwing the ball. You almost go 2-0 who cares about the stats, when the game plan dictated some of that.

They have to run and short pass because they have line depth issues and starting 3 guys on the line they did not expect to start, any team would struggle with that.
It's a big leap to say we are worse than last year when the purpose of this year is to acclimate the young players, and prepare Drake Maye to start.

When you can judge this team and the pass offense is when at least 4 actual starters are playing on the line, and Drake Maye is QB.

BTW, the Carolina Panthers passing offense, thru 2 games is actually much worse than the Patriots AND IT IS NOT EVEN CLOSE. You don't have to look back a decade to realize this 1 stat mentioned making the Pats the worst in the last decade is utter hogwash.

PFF has us ranked 15th in Pass offense BTW. No, I'm not defending that LOL but the point is there are many crappy passing teams, Pats are not even the worst this year, never mind all-time worst which is just ridiculous.
