I am glad to hear they are looking at trading down. It would be negligent to not consider it, even if they stay put.

AVP and McAdoo will be earning their money early in their QB evaluations.

Atlanta at #8 might be a good partner. The Pats should be able to get a great player at 8.

Prefer NYG at 6, Both LTs should still be available along with other talent. Plus the Giants have 2 high 2nds this year.

I have noticed a lot of 5th year Seniors and because of transfers and such, the age of rookies is getting a year or two older than years past. I do like it when we get a great player who's only 20 when drafted, or only 21 when the regular season hits. You especially want that in a QB.

Just remember that basically everyone who was in college in 2020 got an extra year of eligibility thanks to COVID.

That part is going to be done soon.

While i agree it is something that needs to be considered i doubt there is any source to that and rather it is just people speculating that we could do it but reporting it as we are "looking at it"

Every team looks at everything. It's just speculation imo.

for my taste 8 might be a little to far down if you really want a bluechip top 5 prospect
let's assume all 3 qbs, MHJ, ALT, Nabers, Fashanu are gone.

What do you do at 8? Draft the third best OT? Draft the third best WR? fourth best qb? Or even a defense player which i do not recommend

6 would be ideal if the pats really only like 2 of the 3 qbs and both are gone at 3.

I wouldn’t be upset at all with MHJ at 3, however I believe we need a QB badly. Alt should be a cornerstone LT for the next 10-15 years, but I don’t see the value picking him 3rd overall, when we need a QB and weapons. I really like both Maye and Daniels for different reasons. People keep saying “don’t take a QB just to take a QB.” Yes, that’s obvious, but I feel these two QBs are extremely dynamic and “not your average” QB that comes out every year. Also, when will we have another opportunity to draft top 3? We could hypothetically suck next year, but end up outside the top 8-10; will we have to wait to pick a QB in 2026?? **** that..Besides, I’m not high on next year’s batch at all..What about you?..

Get two guys with cornerstone potential. We don't need guys that might work or to fill a certain need. We need guys you can game plan around and are game planned for by opposing coaches.

This years QB T WR class are superior to next year's corp. These things come and go in waves. 26 is the next big class.

If we get a QB we know what it took for Allen, Tua Burrow and the rest to really succeed.

I made a post in the df and I am serious. Give me any two of the big (9) 3 QB 3 WR 3 T > over any combo you come up with in a fantasy simulator.
Maye/Fashanu

Harrison/Alt

Daniels/Odunze

any pair of those guys would make this draft a home run. Use 68 on BPA.

I am really warming to the idea of drafting JJ McCarthy.

How high?

Will he move into the 1st round?

Seems likely.

McCarthy is a lot closer to QB3 than some think and will go RD1 (100%)

He'll be on my PTP list for sure. I've talked about Wilson for years. Absolute junkyard dog. One of my favorite prospects to watch. Absolute animal. Routinely has popped his shoulders back in place on the sidelines. Played through a ton of pain and injuries it's not funny. This dude is a football player and has improved everywhere. Mayo and Boom will absolutely love him.

First things first. Very medical heavy meaning a lit will depend on his medicals and how comfortable you are taking him. 2 ACL, dislocated shoulders. He'll be 24 on Draft Day. Super aggressive that'll have to be contained to a point

Extremely versatile you can play him inside/outside, use him to rush off the edge, stunts, plus in coverage, instincts and leadership. Former wrestler.

Very loose hips, fluid mover - in coverage, scraping, stop & start. Very savvy in coverage. Eyes are on QB but he'll try to bait. Understands where the soft points - where someone would want to go. Disrupts lanes and routes. Very good in zone and reminds me of what Bill used to ask his LBs to do in coverage. Disrupt and be annoying more than actual 1v1.

Sideline to sideline range. Plus game speed I believe he was clocked at 23mph

Quick trigger in the run game. Fires to ball with no fear. Loves to beat OL and play behind the line. Can scrape, fire and wrap up. Loves to disrupt and get physical.

Reliable tackler only him and Colson have a missed tackle rate below 5%

Plus play recognition

Always brings the fight to his target plus toughness and willingness when it comes to bring the thump

You're getting it all with Wilson even if he's not LB1 or the best LB on his team in the pros. He's a "ride or die" guy. Has to do a better job with his hands upfront and play a tiny bit slower at times but hes a good one.

I kind of agree with this, you have to project a bit to 2025. If the offense is middle of the road they are probably a .500 team and drafting like #10-15 next year.
Next year's draft, currently, does not have 10 first round talents and is rated as a really weak year, especially at the top.
Unless you are drafting #1 next year and Sanders has a great year, you are not finding a Daniels/Maye/Williams level of QB prospect.

So, while I "Pray for Maye" to drop I'm undecided on Daniels, need to see his 40-time, actual weight, arm strength in workout etc before deciding because he is an elite runner. I think he'll be better than Fields but Fields is like the 22nd best QB, so how much better is the question.
Barring Daniels, I have no problem trading #34 and next year's first to nab a second blue chip prospect. Not sure any team in the 8-12 range has the luxury of doing that. Hard to drop out of first round when these coaches and GM's are trying to keep their job year to year. Maybe the Bears would?

If teams think your #1 in 2025 could be the top pick and over value that pick in what looks like a very weak draft year, I'd try to see what you can get with it.

I've been watching a lot of videos of the RBs since we need one, and of those 5 listed, only Lloyd interests me. Estime and Irving are on the smaller side and get by on juking people, but they aren't really fast. I think they'll get swallowed up in the NFL. Benson is a little bigger but plays like them. Brooks has the kind of injury that makes him a huge question mark. He might've been the first back to go. But unless a team makes a run at him like the Bills with Willis McGahee, he might even be there in the 4th.

I like Lloyd as a 3rd down back. Pass catcher.

I'd be interested in the 5th round in Braelon Allen, a big bruising back who can't seem to make people miss but can get you 3 yards at any time. I like Will Shipley as a 4th rounder; kind of a Kevin Harris story but with a lot more athleticism. With Shipley, you can hit big even though he had a down year opposed to previous years (like Harris). Late round interests in 6th or 7th: Dillon Johnson (because he's a tough SOB), Emani Bailey, Corey Schrader. All 3 are going to make the NFL as capable backups.

My favorite back: Blake Corum. I see him as having the potential to be a good home run hitter. A James Cook type. I would spend a 3rd on him. It's likelier that, given the team's needs, they'll only spend a 5th thru 7th, which makes Rham the lead back and keeps Kevin Harris as his backup.

So you're back really to targeting Lloyd in the 4th or 5th as your 3rd down back.

I note that Pittman and Higgins are decidedly average on this chart.

You have to be brave to give these men $25m, and if you do, the max contract can only be for 3 yrs. No way you go longer. I'd be tempted to offer them that for only 2 guaranteed.

I would only think it's unlikely because a team is very unlikely to agree to it, rather than it's unlikely because the Patriots wouldn't offer it. I've read that the first round grades this draft are limited to the first half of the first round.

Effectively, this would be like trading 2 second rounders and a 4th for a 1st round value. Just as an example: are Cooper Dejean and JC Latham better than Kamari Lassiter and Troy Fautanu? Or are all of them on the 2nd round fringe and it wouldn't be surprising to see any one of them go 20 or 35. Whereas Terrion Arnold and Olu Fashanu are definitely top 16.

I don't follow college ball but I ran into someone who really liked this kid. With all the holes to fill maybe we could drop back and get him plus more picks. You don't seem too confident of that happening though.
