Big plays by the defense all day - especially at the end. But, we expected that.
For a week one offense, with poor continuity on the OL, I am pretty happy. Far from the doom and gloom predictions we saw all over this board. Mac was protected well overall, made some very good throws once he settled down, and the impact of BoB was obvious.
I don't know about the rest of you, but the schedule going forward doesn't look as tough as it did a week ago.
The Pats had the chance to beat one of the best teams in the league at the end of the game. This is a better team than last year. The defense looked really good against one of the best offenses in the league. I think they missed their starting guards in the run game and will need to be more balanced to hang with the good offenses going forward, but there was a lot of encouraging things about that game.
Tbf he should have had the final drive extended. He made the right pass. His receiver still is playing like a college kid and hasn't adjusted to the NFL

At least Boutte catches the ball. He’ll learn with the toe tap but I like what I saw from him otherwise. Give the rookie a break, this game wasn’t on him.
If you put aj brown on the pats they're superbowl contender. They need a #1 option. We've said this since 2019.
I'm encouraged they'll have a season and this is their most talented defense since 2014. White is a stud. However, you should be frustrated that the team refuses to address their biggest weakness IMO.
Patriots been finding a way to lose these games for years now, they fumbled away a Miami game and Bengals game now another game they should have won and didn't.
Like they said on postgame live 4-16 against playoff teams last few years.
The CLUTCH gene. Some guys like TB12 have it in spades. Some guys like "regular season MVP" Aaron Rodgers just don't!
Can we take a moment to appreciate how many amazing clutch moments Brady gave us? I'm so glad we got to honor him at half time and looking forward to his HOF induction next year! The GOAT carried us on his back for so long. Sometimes you have to live through NOT having a great QB to see how good you had it.
I'm not pronouncing Mac Jones career "done" yet. He's still got time to turn it around. But the way he looks like a 'deer in headlights' whenever he feels pressure, well it's not very promising.
This team lost because it made too many fundamental mistakes. They didn't deserve to win.
BB better give them a proper roasting in the film room and they need to show up big for the next game because that Dolphins offense is about as explosive as it gets in the NFL right now.

How many average teams thru the years "had a chance" to beat the Pats and didn't?
It's the NFL you're going to play close games good teams finish and get the W and mediocre teams make mistakes and find a way to lose, the Eagles won the game and covered the spread.
People mentioning the Dolphins next week : remember they only beat the Chargers. A team that - despite massive hype - loses 50% of their games since Herbert arrived.
Ok, I left the thread earlier as I had friends come over to watch the game. My feeling….I liked what I saw after the first qtr. they fought back and the defense is legit. Offense is coming along work in progress, didnt hate what I saw and a fun game to watch
