2023 Mock Drafts

Trades abound

I've used this before in this thread, but trading Henry and Zappe definitely feels like solving the wrong problems. (Especially trading Zappe, which leaves you with just Hoyer unless you sign a more expensive backup.)

Some of these mocks have a very inflated idea of what we'd get for a trade down from 14, it's more like this:
- to 15: a 6th rounder
- to 16: a 5th & a 7th
- to 17: a 4th
- to 18: a 3rd
- to 19: a 3rd & 6th
- to 20: a 3rd & 4th
- to 21 to 25: a 2nd

Trading up from 14:
- to 13: a 5th
- to 12: a 4th
- to 11: a 3rd & 5th
- to 10: a 2nd
- to 9: a 2nd & 3rd

I doubt that Miami cb lasts until 76. We’d be more likely taking him at 46, like this mock draft: 2023 NFL mock draft: Post-Senior Bowl two-round predictions - NFL, which has us taking “Hercules” at 14, Lukas Van Ness, the powerful, athletic Iowa DE and Tyrique Stevenson, the talented Miami of Fl CB.

Nice haul if you ask me. Now hope a couple of mid round OTs come our way and pan out.

I would love to have somebody like Van Ness here, but our needs at Left Tackle, CB1 & WR are so acute that those positions take precedence over Any other at #14 or wherever our first pick happens to be.

I did a couple of drafts where I chose BPA. Regardless of position or need I just chose whoever the sim said was BPA at my pick. Didn't work out great, better on PFF than Fanspeak

Fanspeak:

14: R1 P14 CB Cam Smith - South Carolina
46: R2 P15 RB Devon Achane - Texas A&M
76: R3 P13 S J.L. Skinner - Boise State
107: R4 P5 C Olusegun Oluwatimi - Michigan
117: R4 P15 S Sydney Brown - Illinois
135: R4 P33 RB Israel Abanikanda - Pitt
184: R6 P7 CB Jarrick Bernard-Converse - LSU
187: R6 P10 RB Kenny McIntosh - Georgia
192: R6 P15 TE Luke Schoonmaker - Michigan
210: R6 P33 QB Clayton Tune - Houston
259: R7 P40 EDGE Isaiah Moore - North Carolina State

Not surprised that RBs, C/Gs, ILBs & Safeties comprise the majority of best player available lists; OTs, CBs, EDs & WRs are always scooped-up first, besides QBs of course.

Kinda sounds like N'keal harry
I hope he goes somewhere with a Good QB and prove me wrong I did not see any explosiveness. I don't care about his height I see Mocks have him going anywhere from 11 to gulp 14. I didn't see much separation from him the Harry and Parker vibes BB please stay away from those type of Big WR's the First Round.

I agree that some of the projections are a bit aggressive but maybe the trade values are somewhere between your estimates and theirs.

I looked for the closest pick to 14 that was traded in 2022 and found that the Texans traded the 13th pick to the Eagles for the 15th pick along with a fourth-round pick (124) and two fifth-rounders (162 and 166).

I would think that sliding back to the 16th spot would net more than a 5th and 7th.

Last one pre combine, I promise...if we don't get Jaxon or Addison.......we're suckers lol, Wright or Evans OT's, Forbes or RIcks cb's, Hainley, Campbell or Pappoe LB's
