Wasn't able to get us as much help for next year's draft this time around, in case we need to go QB-shopping again.
I’m putting you in charge this year.
Poor Nike is going to be on a runner this year chasing birds he cannot catch

For anyone like me that refuses to sign up for a PFF subscription, they made the full 7 round draft with trades available today for free. Here is my mock draft. Went with Gibbs in the second round because I think the Pats would absolutely draft him if he was there at 46, even though I'm not a fan of RB in the first two rounds.

Thanks for the heads-up... Started one last night before midnight but never had a chance to finish after guests arrived until today, which means no grades unfortunately:

Not used to drafting LB Dorian Williams so early, but it was either him or the stiffs Sewell & TooToo.

Had to take Evan Hull a little earlier than usual as well, but this is closer to where he'll likely go anyway.

Not really a fan of my last 3 picks on defense; I've been too used to taking Nick Herbig, Chamarri Conner & Jerrod Clark (who went 159TH!!) in these spots.

No way in hell that Stromberg lasts until 220.

14 picks, and Not Even One for Special olympics Teams. You're welcome.

i want to say no trades, but somehow i have four 6th rounders and i spaced which round i dropped back in to pick one up

id love this draft.. missed the early run on CBs, but snagged Jones in 4th.. and it doesnt hurt to add another Jones to the defensive backfield

could have taken Mims in Round 3

once it gets to round 6, i start running out of prospects im familiar with

traded 2, 3 rd. and future fourth to get harrison but if we believe he can be a future lt starter the value is easily there.
This would give us much better tackle depth with brown/harrison and reiff where one of them likely be the swing tackle.
Protection is more valuable for us than another WR like flowers or downs at this pick imo
starting physical outside CB check
ST check
Michigan player check
inline blocking TE check
IOL backup, maybe future andrews replacement but at least in year 1 better Backup than Ferentz with Gaines imo

Seriously doubt Freeland lasts this long... He'll be taken on Day 2 just from traits alone.

You all know we’re taking Bryan Bresee at 14, right?

Got Witherspoon nothing else matters.

I'm convinced we'll end up with Jonah Tavai, and I like him. Undersized, but dude is fired out of a cannon on every snap. And, not that it should matter, the Pat's staff are obviously pretty high on his brother

I was all gung ho for drafting one of the top 3 OT's if there, or one of the top 3 CB's if there. Then over time I've started to mutate into looking for the rarest of the species, 300 lb special athletes. Just about the ONLY way to stop today's NFL passing games is with a a sustained interior rush. We have a good one in Barmore (who needs to be better btw) and putting him together with a guy like Breseee would seem to be ideal. Add Guy and Godchaux and you have a 4 man rotation that will be REALLY tough outside.

I believe now that the CB class is very deep and good talent with size (Brent for example) will likely be there in round 2 and the OL talent is really not there at the highest end.

That being said, the more I see it, maybe the best move IS to be made by trading down into the 20's and picking up another 2nd rounder. So many needs, so few high end picks

Barely a fortnight away now, and the hay's in the barn, more or less...

Only small trade-downs with 14 and 47, and none at all with 76; I was still able to acquire another Day 2 pick plus a couple for next year, including a 2nd-rounder:

19. Joey Porter Jr. DB Penn State

47. Trent Simpson LB Clemson

76. Blake Freeland LT BYU

91. Matthew Bergeron OT Syracuse

115. Jonathan Mingo WR Mississippi

138. Riley Moss DB Iowa

153. Charlie Jones SLR Purdue

162. YaYa Diaby ED Louisville

165. Jarrett Patterson C/G Notre Dame

175. Payne Durham BTE Purdue

192. Nick Herbig LB/ED Wisconsin

210. Evan Hull 3DB Northwestern

227. Jerrod Clark NT Coastal Carolina via Dorchestah MA

  • 2024 TB 2nd
2024 WAS 4th
  • 2024 NO 5th

  • CB Bradley Roby
