When I read all these mocks, my brain sometimes hurt when I have to figure out all the hypothetical trades..

the 1st round changes quite dramatically depending on which simulator site you use

The theme of today's draft is Quality over Quantity.

We drafted the top WR weapon we could, an athletic freak in round 1, 6'2 Quentin Johnston out of TCU. Not only does he have elite deep speed but he's an excellent route runner. Sounds like a fit for that WR1 role we so desperately need to fill!

In round 2, we moved up and took the best available CB who can actually project to a #1 outside role. Emmanuel Forbes 6' CB Miss State has elite 4.35 speed, silky smooth hips, and top notch ball skills to pick off passes.

In round 3, we had to move up for the best available tackle who can play the blindside as it was unlikely we could wait any longer. Blake Freeland from BYU has a massive 6'7 frame, 34" arms, and terrific athleticism to be a potential blindside protector at the next level.

In round 4, we took an athletic interior defensive lineman who can also rush the passer in Texas lineman Moro Ojomo. Versatility and straight line power are this young man's traits. He can line up just about at any technique while providing a nice blend of power, and explosiveness.

With our second pick in the 4th round we double dip at CB for Tre'Vius Hodges Tomlinson. We know that he's short but his athleticism and ball skills are top notch, which projects him to play nicely in the slot with the 'stickiness' to cover the quicker smaller WRs in those areas. He also has experience playing on the outside which offers versatility in his deployment.

Finally with the last pick of round 5, we take the best punter in the draft, because there's a huge job vacancy! Come on down Michael Turk! Not only does he have one of the highest punt averages in college football but he pairs that with the hang time that will keep returners pinned and make it easier for the punt coverage teams to do their jobs.

Waiting until the 3rd for a tackle prospect might feel risky to some, but we got a truly dangerous weapon in the 1st round, a true outside corner prospect in the 2nd with the potential to become a shutdown corner, and still got a very athletic, high potential tackle in the 3rd. Let's make that quality work for us! If this were the first 5 rounds of our draft, would you be satisfied with our 'substitute GM' picks for BB and the Patriots?
