Congrats to Josh Winckowski for recording his first MLB win by throwing 5 shutout innings in a 10-1 victory. Josh was 1 of 4 players acquired in the Andrew B trade.

The Sox have called up 2nd base man Jeter Downs from Worcester despite a .181 BA. He is the last of the 3 players that Sox received in the Betts trade, Connor Wong now hitting 261 should have already replaced Plawecki and Verdugo is a decent player.

After a 7-2 home stand the Sox embark on a 9 game road trip thru Cleveland, Toronto, and Wrigley field. Sox will face TB and the Yankees 14 games in a row and will not face a team with a losing record until August. Good luck, we're all counting on you.

No pitcher in the MLB has won 8 games since May 7 except Nick Piveta who held opponents to a .185 ERA. Now the 2nd part of the Workman/Hembree trade Connor Seabold will get his first Sox start next week. I'm guessing the Red Sox farm system will be ranked in the top 5 by year's end.

Yankees beginning to hear distant Sox footsteps as now there just 11 1/2 games back and tied for 2nd place. Duran was 4-5 with 2 SBs and another nice performance by Josh and the very likeable Verdugo adds a 3 run homer in a 4-2 win.

Duran keeps playing like this he's the leadoff hitter permanently. Kiki is a jag,really wouldn't understand him displacing Duran. Speed kills. Makes the whole lineup deeper and more dangerous.

Sox lead the majors in team BA. .261 and in runs scored. They currently rank 6th in pitching. Since opening at 10-19, Sox have gone 32-12 since. Conner Seabold 5-1 with the Woo Sox gets his 2nd MLB start in Toronto

A Friday afternoon MLB Network game at Wrigley and a perfect start with a first pitch home run. First time I remember seeing a opposing teams line-up and not knowing any starter.

After a 5-4 road trip, the Sox get the first win in what will be 14 straight games against TB and NY. Sox announced hot pitching prospect Brayan Bello (pronounced Bay o) will make his 1st MLB start Wednesday.

Big series this weekend at Fenway and next weekend at the Evil Empire. Far back in the standings but maybe Sox win both series and rattle them a bit.

The gap between the 6 teams in an AL playoff spot right now and everyone else is like a canyon....

Game was fun to watch last night. Sox/Yanks at Fenway, when both teams are contenders, is still one of the best things in sports to watch anywhere.

Getting swept by the Rays makes me less excited about this weekends series but hope they can give the Yankees something to think about.

After Houck's throwing error in the 9th allows the Yankees to tie the game, he gets out of 2 bases loaded jams and Brazier saves the day. Fantastic win as Xander with a great read scored on a wild pitch.

Doom, despair and agony on the Red Sox as Chris Sale breaks his left pinky on a batted ball and the bullpen continues to give up 10 plus runs.
I'm curious to see how many bullpen pitchers are released by the trading deadline.
