Russey should definitely have stonewalled that convergence of the entire DLine.....bum.
It's tough as I know what you mean. KR's guy, though, went right by him in less than a sec, which BZ saw immediately and took evasive maneuvers, so it was pretty much over from there.

Veery surprised about Peppers, I thought for sure he would be our Big presence in certain Nickels and Dimes packages. Must mean good things for those who remains.

But ok, Ive got a hot take:

You guys wonder why Ferentz is constantly around but loooooove Andrews around here. Nepotism aside, it's a very similar situation to me, of course with Andrews being better, even if it is by default: Guy with "smarts" rather strenghts, probably a wormbook and coach-friendly.
He hasn't been cut.

This is probably a team decision to move younger, and they let Bethel get in front of it.

For all the investment in special teams last year, the Patriots were average beyond Folk.

Ha! Eat dust, all of you.

Will the Pats ADD new UFAs from teams that employ zone blocking schemes?

Check it out

The offense used by Mike Shanahan in Denver and later Washington has evolved and become all the rage in the NFL today.

The Shanahan offense is derived from the West Coast offense made famous by Bill Walsh. However, the Walsh offense wanted to use quick, short passes as a partial substitute for a traditional running game. The Shanahan offense created a wide zone-blocking scheme that allows running to be a partial substitute for the passing game.

Where is the 2022 Pats offensive strength? Id say RB and TE.

Both concepts are similar, they both want to force the defense into defending sideline to sideline, however, the Walsh offense gets the ball to someone in space then they run. Shanahan's offense hands the ball off and creates the space as the ball carrier advances toward the sideline until they find the opening.

Hence grabbing Strange.

Kyle Shanahan has perfected this type of running game in San Francisco. Personnel is often a 2 back set with either 2 TEs and 1 WR,

Harris - Stevenson
Henry - Smith
Take your pick - Parker, Bourne, Meyers

or 2 WRs and 1 TE. In this offense, all 5 of the eligible receivers are "alive" on the play, though the play design may be more about getting one of those guys into a wide-open space to receive the ball. Other variants, like Sean McVay's offense like to use a 3rd WR instead of having a fullback on the field.

The Pats have no FB for 2022 by design.

Bunch formations are popular in this system as is play-action passing. The system can succeed with a middling QB as long as they can execute the system properly.

Sounds like a scheme designed for a relatively green NFL QB.

Currently, this system is used (or will be used) by Kyle Shanahan (SF), Sean McVay (LAR), Matt LaFleur (GB), Kevin Stefanski (CLE), Arthur Smith (ATL), Shane Waldron (SEA), Klint Kubiak (MIN) (Klint is another child of a founder of this offense), Todd Downing (TEN), Mike LaFleur (NYJ), and possibly Matt Canada (PIT) if he survives past Big Ben's tenure in Pittsburgh.

If zone scheme players land in NE then BB is not giving up on this new way of offense.

Blocking more than air would have helped. I guess you think we want guys who play bad because the guy next to them does?

Gorbachev was still alive ? Wowza.

Anyways : kinda surprised at Bethel moving on, less so everyone else so far.

Surprised how?

Some plays everyone sucks.
Would you cut a UDFA on one of those?

Called Bethel a while ago being cut with Schooner he’s redundant.
I still have Guy being the cut that makes Bill actually cry at night to keep Ray and Davis.
