expedited review = its the only game on tv, so new york is making all the decisions and radioing them in
I wish they'd just call it like it is instead of trying to make it seem like the officials are doing some incredible effort or something.

The hubris to hand Patricia ans Judge the offense is more astounding the more times passes
It was a bad decision. Not hubris. There are worse OCs in the NFL right now. Patricia is among the worst of the pack.

Does Harbaugh get fired if they lose to the Bengals tonight?

It will mean only 2 playoff victories in 10 years.

Does anyone else hate expedited review?

This is the most arbitrary thing ever.

Give the coaches one more challenge under 2 minutes of each half (so 2 challenges for the game and 1 that can only be used inside of 2 minutes of each half).
I may be in the minority but I kind of like it. What I don't like is the NFL making rule and game operation changes on the fly during the playoffs.

It’s incredibly bizarre how little attention it has received. Potentially it could change the outcome of games. How is it decided? What are the standards for expedited review? How are they applied? There’s a million questions and they’re just quickly shuffling past it with the announcers being told to say how great it is

its so heavy handed as a term... im sure that phrase was a "talking point" made by the league during the production meetings... "emphasize this, this and that... and don't forget "expedited reviews" ...

Yes, because as much as we hate when incompetent officials make bad calls, at least it's THEM making the calls and games are self-contained events with the exception of inside 2-minute situations and stuff like that. With this "expedited review" business it's almost as if the refs aren't doing anything, they're just figureheads making a guess and waiting for the goons in New York to whisper in their ear if it needs to be changed. What's the point?

I also don't love the fact the they use it so much, the call by the ref should be the call, challenge it if you need to. Reversing things constantly at the whim of Goodell or whoever feels like it kind of... tears at the fabric of the game.

It's definitely hubris to it. To think that it's so easy two guys who have never called offense can do it at the highest level.

If there ever was a season that highlights the importance of good coaching.. it's this season.

So many examples of poor teams/players having a good year. Gmen, Jags, Seachickens, Lions.

And lack of good coaching, Chargers, Denver with Russel. Pats offense.

no, dont think so

Pro Bowl? I can't wait to miss it.

I keep wondering if Patricia/Judge was BB's plan B or C vs. straight-up hubris. It could be he had someone else lined up and it fell through late, leading him to go with Patricia both knowing it would be a stop-gap at worst. There's no telling why Caley didn't get the nod.

Two good games!!

Now Bengals Ravens will be a dud, right?

Who makes the calls during the review? "New York"

Who in New York? "No comment"

What qualifies as something that needs to go to this type of review? "No comment"

Is a call challengeable if it goes to this expedited review and the coach disagrees? "No comment"

If the call is challenged, is it reviewed by someone else, or does the same person who did the first review do the challenge? "No comment"

Why can't a coach challenge inside 2 minutes because everything goes to review if things are being reviewed all game long anyway, what's the difference? "No comment"

Please, for the love of god stop. Make a ****ing thread about it. talk about it there. Its tiresome to read this sht on every single page.

Whatever it was, it can't happen again this year. We had better talent and got worse.

Wow - ballsy!
