2018 Combine

Barkley is already starting to put on a show. Over 230 pounds. 29 reps on the bench. He's going to destroy the Combine.

He's going to destroy the NFL. Especially if he goes to the right team. I absolutely love that we were the first to meet with Michel. That kid would be an absolute monster in this offense. OROY potential.

Rolland-Jones came in much bigger than expected. That's good for him. Incredibly productive player.

On the flip side, Hercules had very short arms (for those who care about that sort of thing). Guy needs to test really well if he wants to go high -- he's already a projection moving to the outside, and now people are going to harp on his length, whether it's deserved or not.

That wingspan on McIntosh tho...

Purely from a height/weight/wingspan perspective, there are a lot of great looking players in this draft. They all come with significant questions, though, whether it's medical (Josh Sweat), or production (Chad Thomas), or off field (Arden Key). We'll see how it all shakes out.

Aruna is an intriguing guy, although it's tough to find a lot of easily-accessible film studies on him. Very long limbs, and he plays hard on every snap. At the very least, he has one of the coolest accents in the entire draft.

Combine Notes: Day 3 | Draft Analyst

He's DE #1 if anyone wants to scrub through the broadcast film. It's a lot more tedious than the draft breakdown cutups, but there's a lot of content if you're patient.

Intriguing prospect, but I wouldn't want the first DE I draft to be him. Now if he were the back end of a DE double-dip, then I can dig that.

What drives me crazy is how much people keep saying that Edmunds is an unprecedented linebacker prospect. He's not that different from Anthony Barr (or even Hightower).

2014 NFL Draft Profile: Anthony Barr

In fact, LVE isn't that far off, either:

I had hoped Evans would be a little bigger, but 6'2 and 232 isn't bad for today's NFL. He's already shown good technique to stack and shed, and he's one of the heaviest hitters I've seen.

Hopefully LVE does some freakish stuff to make Evans consensus ILB4. He could fall to 31 if that’s the case right?

And now a sub 5-second 40? Fantastic.

Kolton Miller is starting to look like the tall UCLA tackle that we should have drafted. I thought McDermott would appeal to us last year based on technique, but he wasn't a top notch athlete. Miller, on the other hand, reminds me of Solder.

I couldn't see him falling past the Steelers. Fits like a glove with the way they blitz.

LVE's upside makes him more interesting than Evans, but I like Evan's technique better right now. I'd be happy with either one, although given their size, it's more likely that we would be interested in LVE if they were both available.

Very pleased with Oren Burk's weigh in today. He's bigger than anticipated. He's my dark horse candidate to be our next Star position. I think he'll surprise in drills with his movement skills. I really, really like him.

Another guy with the exact same measurements as Edmunds. Of course, he plays outside vs inside linebacker, but I do really like Carter (not as much as @Snooky97 though).

Another one of my underrated guys. Give me Turay and Burks, and I'd be pretty happy.

Chubb is no slouch either at RB:

Ballage with a 4.46 is great for his size. He could very well be a David Johnson type if he could improve his patience / vision. He'd be a nice addition here in the passing game at any rate -- he's great in space. Intriguing player.
