"First of all, that's not my prerogative," Gretzky told TMZ. "That's up to the National Hockey League.

"What we have now in the NHL, we have great refereeing and analyzing what's best for the game and I'm sure the NHL will take care of it properly."

Gretzky was pressed to expand on his thoughts on whether Marchand's punch was dirty, but he didn't budge.

"I didn't see the game," Gretzky said. "You have to see the whole game to understand what happened."

When asked one more time if it was cheap, Gretzky added with a laugh, "We've all been punched!"'

Which goes to the point made earlier about some retaliation for what Harrington got away with in game is understandable. Let's call it what it is, if that was Coyle or Accari nobody gives it a second thought. That said, Marchand has to know it shouldn't be him.
