Got a binkie at a position of need. Julien Davenport 6'6" 315lb - Bucknell.

Davenport is a guy I see being a really fast riser late. He's probably not gonna get much love during the season playing for Bucknell, but he should test very well.

9/17/16: Bucknell has started the season 1-1, but there is a real buzz in the scouting community about Davenport. Area scouts and national scouts from every team are hitting Bucknell this season to see him.

9/3/16: Sources say that Davenport has superb measurements to be a starting left tackle in the NFL. He is listed at 6-foot-7, 315 pounds. Scouts say they think he could be an inch shorter but has excellent length with 35-plus-inch arms and 10.5-inch hands. Davenport has good athleticism with quick feet with a background in playing basketball. Athletic ability runs in the family as Davenport is cousins with Charlotte Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Team sources believe that Davenport could be a future starting left tackle in the NFL.

One scouting director told WalterFootball.com that they think Davenport would be a top-20 pick if he played at a big BCS school, but because of his level of competition, he is probably more likely to be a second-round pick.

I see Peppers had 3.5 tfls yesterday. Which helps in another comparison that I thought suitable for him yesterday. Would it be fair to call him the defensive back version of Jamie Collins? I'm just thinking about his explosion which seems similar.

I was watching Oregon's OT Tyrell Crosby today. He doesn't have conventional OT length at 6'4.5" but I was very impressed. I liked his pretty nimble feet and he gets good push in the running game. Played at RT last year but is switching to LT this.

Oh well. Moving on.

His closing speed on that screen pass and his sack look like polamalu. Just a missile going off.

I thought Myles Garrett was going to be in a class by himself on defense this year, but peppers has so much to his game, he could start gaining on him by years end.

I believe that the Patriots will be going heavy at OT in particular. With Vollmer's injury history and the fact that he's a UFA and Solder being a UFA after 2017 this is where the focus needs to be.. I wouldn't be surprised to see them use their top 2 picks on OT. Especially with nothing in the pipeline on the team currently..

I guess that I have to hope this is a relatively deep draft at OT.

Well, they need the late first round and also late second round since I expect the Pats to make the play-offs..

You know, Polamalu might be the best comp yet. FWIW, 48% of Peppers' tackles have been behind the LOS so far this year.

We can talk peppers all day, but one more point, that may have been made already.

He does seem to fit the ideal of what the Pats have been looking for the last few years in a star/money backer. They obviously drafted wells and grugier-hill, but apparently targeted sua cravens with its first pick as well. Cravens is a nice piece, that I liked more than most, but all his shortcoming, are strengths for peppers. Quickness, ball locating and playing the pass will all be pluses to peppers game. If his body can hold up physically at that position, he would be the ideal.

So I was looking at LBs incase the Pats decide to let one go. Very few this year fit what the Pats look for. They tend to like 250+ lb guys.

Right now the Only guys who seem highly ranked and fit that mold are Ryan Anderson - Alabama, Devonta Fields - Louisville, Kendell Beckwith - LSU. Those are the only reasonably high ranked players over 250.

A few guys that are highly ranked are over 240 but that tends to be small for the pats. So not a lot of prospects the Pats are probably looking at from those spots which hopefully entices them to sign Collins/Hightower.

If I was to guess right now, I would expect Hightower to get extended and Collins to get franchised. HT seems to be the more traditional LB with easy comps, while Collins may want to view himself in a star conversation with Miller and watts of the world. Not to say he will get that type of money, but he is the hardest contract extension to nail down, imo.

Personally, I am not convinced they have to go with the big body linebacker. Zach Cunningham and Reuben foster are my two guys, and both would be considered good size, outside of New England. If the pats do go for a linebacker, I imagine the talent of foster and Cunningham would transcend their physical limitations.

To add to that, BB did draft Ray Lewis (although had to be talked in to it) and his physical profile is identical to Fosters. Not a player comparison at all, but Just some food for thought.

Not sure there's anyone that's a bigger fan of Hightower than I but I've just started to wonder whether his proneness to injury makes him a less certain re-signing. I hope not but I think it's a possibility. If that's the case, I could absolutely see BB drafting Reuben Foster who seems like a very BB guy.

Looking at some OT traits for the Pats, you think length, athleticism, arm length, mobility. I might have found someone interesting. Well, when I say I found him, he's been getting some talk on twitter.

Ladies and Gents, let me introduce you to Ryan Ramczyk of Wisconsin.

Length: 6-6", 316 lbs. pretty much ideal.

Athleticism: Saw an article in which teammates describe him as an athletic freak. Had him down with a 34" vertical jump.

Arm length: looking at images of him, not convinced he's in Solder territory. Perhaps 33"-ish.

Mobility: Via PFF

Change of direction, the ability to get out and pull, ease of pass sets, and locating linebackers all play a part in an offensive lineman’s movement skills and Ramczyk has them all in spades. The Wisconsin left tackle has yet to allow a single pressure this year in 100 pass-protecting snaps while also maintaining the third-highest run blocking grade of any tackle in the country. The Divsion III transfer is quickly making a name for himself.
