If he keeps his mouth shut he should be a reliable receiver to get the ball to. Maybe even draw some double coverage. Tate didn't scare anyone going deep.

"They can also not trade players during the draft, but they can trade picks, both present and future, during the draft."
Ngata.
Do we give Plaxico Burris a look? He's not a stretch the field guy and is 33 with rust and baggage, but he will be minimum-salary cheap and the deal could be incentive-laden.
Before you scoff, I'm thinking his 6'5" frame offers some possibilities with situational play-calling not there with the 5'9" gang or even the 6'1" OchoCinco.
It wouldn't be a good PR move though, since other than the gun issue I recall him having some domestic viloence issues too, so maybe no Plax but a receiver with his physical attributes could help in the mix.
I know it's a long shot but I'd pay this guy whatever it takes (within reason of course)
With him next to Vince, Ty and whomever else on the line in the 3-4 or 4-3, your run defense, pass rush and pass defense instantly become better.
Along with o-line help, that is what the team needs IMO.

He's probably gonna be the highest paid NT with his new contract. I'd much rather see how cheap they could get Shaun Ellis as he'd be a great veteran on the line who's still pretty good.
The truth is, if our entire draft consists of OLB, DE, OL, I will not complain.
Keep in mind that the strength of this defense in the salad days was the front 7. Sey, Washington, Ty Warren, McGinest, Bru, etc.
I would welcome a cagey vet like Shaun Ellis to this team. Keep in mind he will be 34 years old at the start of camp. Hes short-term.
With that said, I'd still want Ngata. Brady is locked up. Wilfork is locked up. The rooks have 2-4 more years on their contracts. Everyone else is expendable.
Brady's window is 3-4 more years. Now is the time to act.
That would give the jets the biggest group of dbag receivers ever. I mean who else would they need? Freddie Mitchell? I mean at least Chad and TO don't get in trouble with the cops.Hate to say it, but Plax is a perfect Jet.
I'm curious who folks think gets cut, and how, from the current Pats group if they go for a stretch-the-field WR. As it is you have a promising pick (Price) not getting playing time and I think a move will be made to get him on the field. At this point, I hate to say it, but the most expendable WR in the group might be Branch.
I really doubt the ravens let ngata go. He's really important to that d. Probably about as good a chance peyton manning leaving the colts.
I agree especially if the franchise tag will remain intact with the new CBA.The odds of Ngata leaving BAL are slim and none no question.
Right now the owners cannot even agree amongst themselves.Assuming a new CBA gets done of course.
