It took 13 weeks to get to number One, but the Pats D is having an excellent season.

They have had their share of growing pains and still have a weakness handling running backs as receivers but they looked really good last night. I have had the feeling they were going vanilla all season and that was the first game where they really gave complex looks and they had Flacco and the Ravens offense off kilter all night. If they clean up the special teams mistakes, which I have no doubt they will, then this is the best team in football. Their ability to adapt to life without Gronk was really impressive.

Minnesota is #1, we are #2

They would be a full ppg less if Cy Jones & "pro-bowler"(snicker) Matty Slater were never born.

@mosslost I would suggest saying something like this:

For the time being, the Patriots have the #1 ranked defense out of all the teams currently projected for the playoffs

They would be a full ppg less if Cy Jones & "pro-bowler"(snicker) Matty Slater were never born.

Yes, because being a pro bowler/all pro for being one of if not the best core special teamers in the NFL means Slater should be a great kick returner too. What's next? Rip him for not being a great kicker, punter or long snapper?
