He certainly was excitable. Coming off from that 1-15 disaster, that 6-10 season was kinda fun. I was in college at the time. Games were cheap and so was beer and gas back then.
The wheels came off the 1992 season and Mac got sick in the middle of it. Dante took over I think. 2-14.
...and then came Tuna, Drew and then Kraft. Thank god.
These young'uns are spoiled. I remember screaming at the TV when Rod Rust and **** MacPherson were coaching the Patriots. And in the grand scheme of things that wasn't that long ago - early 1990s. Those guys took a team that was pretty well constructed by Raymond Berry and drove it into the 1-15 ditch.

You could only scream at away games as a lot of the home games were blacked out because of lack of interest..
During the "dark times" you could not find Pats Gear and all us fans were in a very obvious minority, when the Jets, Giants and Dolphins fans would show up to work.. there in all their resplendent "puff coat" glory, Dolphins fans wearing their their puke green coats, the Jets fans were reveling in the heroics of Joe Namath.. I would have to listen to the sweet sounds of Gill on my Walkman knock off..
Glad I stuck it out.. they used to make fun of us, not they are all green with envy..
