Saints are 11-3, currently the #3 seed in NFC....missing the bye week forcing the Saints to need 4 playoff wins to hoist the trophy. If NO fails to compete in SB...Pats get pick #29 from the Saints....as of today

Raiders are 7-7, currently out of the playoffs. Twelve teams have worse records...7 teams have 7-7 records. Without going thru tie breakers, Pats get to pick between 45-51. Oakland's remaining games are KC (away) and SD (home)

Great Blue North Draft Report

This site has the draft order. Right now Oak/SD are tied for 16th. So, either 49 or 50. Hope Oakland loses out. At KC and resurgent Chargers. I'm also hoping NO is the 3 seed as you mentioned. I doubt it. But, they could always lose that 1st round game. Atlanta plays them tough. Detroit was coming back in their earlier game until personal foul bonanza killed them. And, that was without Suh. If the Saints lose in the 1st round, that pick will be 24th.

Those are the old rules. It now works like this:

Lose in Wild Card round: 21-24
Lose in Divisional round: 25-28
Lose in Conf. Championship: 29-30
Lose Super Bowl: 31
Win Super Bowl: 32

If the Saints win the wild card game at home and lose on the road the next week, we could be looking at #28 and #32.

Based on this positioning, does anybody really think BB will take two players in the first? I don't see it.

Quite likely, although we've seen:
(A) BB reject trades that he felt didn't offer sufficient value (see: 2011 #33).
(B) BB reject trades that don't fit his plans for the draft. [In 2009, BB got offers for the first-rounder that involved getting a first-rounder in 2010; he turned those down.]
