Hicks has been used against the run quite a bit, maybe now he's going to take Easleys role in the pass rush and Kitchen will get some of the run d reps? Branch and Kitchen are two big dudes...
In 222 snaps, Easley has applied pressure on the QB 12.6% of the time.
In Hicks' snaps, he's applied QB pressure 10.9% of the time.
Seal is around 2%. Brown and Branch are 5%
They'll lose something with Easley, but the question is....will more Hicks be more production?
Patriots Advanced Stats: Jabaal Sheard, Akiem Hicks Excel In Pass Rush
Hicks and Easley's numbers are so good because they are situational. Easley is a pretty special DT at generating pressure though. We've had other players in his role before that didn't have nearly his numbers.
Brown and Branch play way more 1st, 2nd and short 3rd downs than Easley/Hicks do. I'm certainly interested in seeing Hicks play more though. I think Hicks is good against the run.
That's one of the fun parts about watching this team over the years. Their moves tend to be head scratchers and then we get the pleasure of watching it unfold. Then we get to say, oh I see why they did that now......

Source: the Patriots claimed both WR Leonard Hankerson (Falcons) and OT LaAdrian Waddle (Lions) off of waivers.
Leonard Hankerson! This move is intriguing.
Maybe. Waddle is a OT though.Claimed off Waivers: Hankerson and LaAdrian Waddle.
Waived: Damaris Johnson
IR: Blount.
I just hope that adding Waddle isn't a sign about Kline's shoulder.
Hankerin' for a hunk of catches!
Should I be embarrassed that I still know every word to that song?
Does this mean no sjax
