12/16/15 - More Roster Moves

Hicks has been used against the run quite a bit, maybe now he's going to take Easleys role in the pass rush and Kitchen will get some of the run d reps? Branch and Kitchen are two big dudes...

In 222 snaps, Easley has applied pressure on the QB 12.6% of the time.

In Hicks' snaps, he's applied QB pressure 10.9% of the time.

Seal is around 2%. Brown and Branch are 5%

They'll lose something with Easley, but the question is....will more Hicks be more production?

Patriots Advanced Stats: Jabaal Sheard, Akiem Hicks Excel In Pass Rush

Hicks and Easley's numbers are so good because they are situational. Easley is a pretty special DT at generating pressure though. We've had other players in his role before that didn't have nearly his numbers.

Brown and Branch play way more 1st, 2nd and short 3rd downs than Easley/Hicks do. I'm certainly interested in seeing Hicks play more though. I think Hicks is good against the run.

Yes. I think they can get 5-10 more snaps a game out of Hicks. Run or pass.

That's one of the fun parts about watching this team over the years. Their moves tend to be head scratchers and then we get the pleasure of watching it unfold. Then we get to say, oh I see why they did that now......

it's classic BB misdirection...Kitchen takes snaps from Hicks so hicks doesn't get too many stats/looks/big ego...and we re-sign Hicks on the cheap next year.

Mwahahaha!

Leonard Hankerson! This move is intriguing.

Leonard Hankerson drops a ton of balls. Did they really need another Brandon LaFell?

Claimed off Waivers: Hankerson and LaAdrian Waddle.
Waived: Damaris Johnson
IR: Blount.

I just hope that adding Waddle isn't a sign about Kline's shoulder.

Maybe. Waddle is a OT though.

I think they need simply another body at RB before their next game (and it might be the practice squad fullback that had 500 carries and 60 catches in college), but this is a good way for the open roster spots to provide some short term value. I doubt Hankerson, Waddle, and Kitchen are all keepers, but there's a solid chance that they'll get something out of one of them.

Leonard Hankerson is intriguing. He's tall, fast and has huge hands. He's a potential high upside player.

Pats Fan in Atlanta here again. Remember LaFell's first game back and his problem with the dropsies? That's a good day catching the ball for Leonard Hankerson. The dude has absolute hands of stone.

I liked Hankerson. Thought I even saw him doing good things early this year. Sucks to hear he's LaFell but worse.
