Patriots Pregame Thread Patriots @ Seahawks pre-game discussion

Pregame Discussion ahead of the LIVE game day discussion thread. The actual Game Thread will Open an hour ahead of kickoff.
They signed two guys better than Diggs.

All the Romeo Doubs non-believers out there, there's still some room on the binky bandwagon, but space is limited.
Who are the non-believers? I haven't been keeping track.

One of the interesting tests will be Will Campbell's performance. He played hurt in the Super Bowl and was a turnstile. Healthy and now his second year. His performance will be critical.

Yes, the whole Oline will need to be much better.
Campbell was hurt and his play suffered greatly, but Wilson and the rest of line were very bad too.
And it wasn't just pass blocking.
The run game was pitiful.
Our RBs had a combined 13 carries for 42 yds, 3.2 yds a clip.

On PatsFans mystical groups of posters are commonly imagined. 1 or 2 guys will have a belief and posters balloon those few into a large mob. Or someone suggests an alternative possibility to discuss, and posters assume that anyone who discussed that alternative wholly subscribes to its certainty.

You commonly see this in draft discussions. There are a lot of options in the draft, many trade possibilities, multiple rounds, etc., so some think it is fun to explore different scenarios. But once a scenario is discussed, some posters are forever indignant that the discussion means people are committed to that possibility. For example to this day, posters think there are a bunch of PatsFans who wanted to trade down and select J J McCarthy instead of selecting Maye, all due to the trade down discussion in the draft forum.

Similarly there are very few, if any, Doubs non-believers, although no doubt there are a lot imagined.

I have taught critical thinking lessons in the past, and explicitly cite this as an internet sports phenomenon ("I think X is true, thus X is true", and "I want Y to happen, so Y should happen").

Geeze - Goodell and Google are teaming up to create clickbait headlines - this almost gave me a heart attack.

Hyphen, space placement and using enough meaningless filler words in your headline (to get to a~48-52 character limit) are key to generating clicks (from folks who would have never clicked an honest title).

My Jays ( at least they are being slightly more competitive lately) and my beloved Patriots are on tap today. Great sports day!

So looking forward to the season.... !!

No disrespect Tommmy: but I wouldn't call a Guy who hasn't posted 800yds in a sigle season better than S Diggs. That's definitely the hope IF McDaniels and Maye can unlock him: QB Jordan Love is very suspect in my book. I'm intrigued no see how Doubs performs here: so move over Tommy I want the window seat.

A long 12 hours ahead!
Can't wait to see how certain guys perform, and how each unit looks after 0 starters played in the preseason.
3 keys for the Offense:
- Can Drake protect the ball (0 fumbles + 0 INT's)?
- Can Stevenson not fumble after no real contact for 7 months?
- Can JMD find a way to get any semblance of a run game after a really bad TC + Preseason in the run game?
3 keys for the Defense:
- Can our Edges get to Darnold early?
- Can our top 5 secondary play like it and shut down the passing game?
- Can our LB's cover & run protect to limit long drives?

They are floating around in the ether ready to pounce.
I loved the signing since day 1.
There was a horde that were beside themselves because he wasn't good enough to be #1. He was never signed to be a #1, but some posters could not see that. Then there were those saying he got paid way too much, but his contract is pretty standard for a #2.
All I know about Doubs is, every time I watched GB he was their best WR, and he made big plays at big moments.
I don't know what his stats will be, but we are better team for having him and he will help us win games, I have no doubt of that.

Sorry PF2.
The window seats are reserved for those of us that have been on board since day 1.
You're in the back row beside the crying baby

Seriously, which one will finish this season with better results?

Remember it’s who is better in 2026 that matters, not who was better in 2025, or 2020.

Diggs has played 11 NFL seasons. He’s 32, will be 33 by end of November. Doubs has played 4. He’s 26, and he’ll still be 26 after the Super Bowl. That’s a big difference in age, experience, wear and tear, and mileage on the tires.

Even if Diggs is arguably better before the opening game of the 2026 season will that still be true after the end of the season?

Get an early lead. Run the bowl. Watch Will Campbell pancake defenders. Touch myself.

Is that Mack Hollins with the big grab? AJ Brown makes a great decoy. All eyes will be on him.

It won't be easy, but this is a Patriots victory. I'd feel better with a better pass rusher at DE.

Payback's a *****, Seahags.

Apparently one of Seattles better insider reporters stated the star safety, don’t wanna kill the spelling is closer to doubtful than questionable.
