I really don't get how a player can get to the level of being drafted in the 2nd freaking round, and then you see stuff like this? Like how is it possible? Not blocking I get but...
Attitude?I really don't get how a player can get to the level of being drafted in the 2nd freaking round, and then you see stuff like this? Like how is it possible?
I guess but didn't that attitude just land them a 2nd round selection? I guess it is what it is - NFL ain't college and some just can't hack it.Attitude?
Inside linebacker is a different position. Hes on a team with 3 good edge guys. Lack of sacks might not be indicative of not having that ability provided the opportunity. Like stats would be different if a guy played corner then moved to safety. And its his profile. Hes built like a light gabe jacas. Similar measurables. Maybe in the 90s he could play inside lb but right now I don't think its a fit. Former Buckeye. Look I'm not hell bent on it but I think it would be low risk possible good reward. Didn't Vrabel himself come from Pittsburgh cuz he was lost in the shuffle playing out of position. Rob ninkovich too. I thought harrison had talent and promise coming out a college. Id like to see what he could do with some time at edge. Landry is best case starting on pup pats need another player there.Bold move Cotton. 2 sacks in 6 years at ILB. Ravens & Steelers know LBers and they've seen him specifically as a run stuffer and STs. Does he have any skills that you see that make him an Edge at 27 yrs old?
You don't find many guys switching positions at age 27. Normally if there is success they stick with it. AI indicates he had played some hybrid edge with the Ravens but nothing stuck. Vrabel was drafted as an End with the Steelers and we got him in year 4. Now Harrision is being replaced by 32 yr old Elandon Roberts.Inside linebacker is a different position. Let me say.. this as my previous post reply to @TommyD4207 and @Clomery may have came off as insensitive as Pearsall did suffer a life or death situation and I'd like make amends on that comment.. so please excuse me on that. There's enough insensitive posters and I don't want to be seen as one so that's on me. To your points Rain.. you perfectly summed it up in comparison to Harry. My homer 49ers friend is surprisingly done with him. It’s also the general consensus among 49ers fans and media.
But what he’s been through confirms how soft N’Keal Harry was in NE. Pearsall gets shot in the chest right before the season started in September. He was lucky to even survive and yet he still got on the field 3 weeks before Harry did with his little ankle boo boo in the pre season. Pearsall caught 500 yards to Harry’s measly 100 yards.

I wouldn't care if the Pats stuck him on the PS but dontcha think if Landry isn't ready to play they'll find a Vet who has played the position? You wouldn't give a roster spot to an experiment because they're too valuable.
I thought pittsburgh was moving vrabel around cuz of the other players they had. Maybe it didn't work in bmore but the fact they tried could lead to a 2nd attempt. Maybe the pats have a different style or are asking for different things. Like pat Chung he didn't workout the 1st time and bill recognized he might work in a different way to fit his skill set. They signed roberts to play inside. I think if malik should get a last chance at edge thats his best bet. A vet could work but pats could also say d.jones ponder jacas swinson is enough til Landry gets back then put malik on the PS once hes activated. You sign a vet then Landry comes back who gets demoted? We're talking PS type play here or the last spot on the 53 so its not imperative but I think its worth a look if possible. I knew what you meant by your original post. 49er fans really don't like this guy and were already irritated with him when he had hamstring issues prior to him getting shot. It continued the following season and now a season ending injury. Fans have very little patience for players teams reach on in the draft. We know this very well.Let me say.. this as my previous post reply to @TommyD4207 and @Clomery may have came off as insensitive as Pearsall did suffer a life or death situation and I'd like make amends on that comment.. so please excuse me on that. Thanks Rain.. appreciate that!! Aside from the Shooting incident purely as a player standpoint I had taken notice that he's definitely injury prone. His talents are undeniably good! However if a player's availability is thier best ability. We know this full well from our own guy's we've had over the years in NE. I appreciate this insight.. so 9ners fans are actually feeling what we felt from our bad drafts 2017- 2024.. ??I knew what you meant by your original post. 49er fans really don't like this guy and were already irritated with him when he had hamstring issues prior to him getting shot. I think it stems from the 9ers fans really upset nothing came from the teams they built from 2019-2023. They are tired of Shanahan/Lynch's bad drafts. Then you have them mismanaging the Aiyuk situation, power plant "causing injuries", Shanahan's car crash and now Jed York getting arrested. It's a sh*t show there and their window has shut.
He was pegged as one of the best pass catching TEs in the draft, maybe the best pure pass catcher. This is surprising. Not blocking I get but...
